Social media influencer and TikToker Chris Olsen has shared his experience of witnessing a stabbing in the New York City subway. On January 2, 2025, he took to his TikTok and shared how he bailed himself out of the situation as he was in the same subway car where an alleged stabbing happened.

In the video, which was also posted on Chris Olsen’s Instagram page, he said he almost died while he was with his friend Cara (Caroline Haroldson) on the subway. In a surprising turn of events, every passenger ran towards them as they were near the end of the car. They attempted to move to the next car.

Chris Olsen stood near the door where people could change cars in the subway but it was jammed. He said he had an adrenaline rush and opened the door, after which they jumped to the next coach and opened its door. He said everyone behind them was screaming and pushing each other and:

“Then everyone in that car obviously starts yelling because behind us is screaming and pushing us all forward and then we get pushed all the way to the front of that next car but the door in front of that is completely locked but all we can hear behind us is people are screaming.”

He continued:

“We don’t know if someone has brought out a gun. We don’t know who else has been stabbed so we just hear screaming in the background and we keep getting pushed harder and harder against a wall with no door to open.”

According to Chris Olsen, Cara saw one of the persons take out a big knife

He mentioned he was a frequent subway traveler, but his friend Cara wasn’t, as she did not live there. Olsen pointed out that minor altercations between passengers are commonplace in the subways.

It all goes back to when two passengers started yelling at each other, and Kara got a little nervous. He assured her that it was going to be fine, but she then told him that one of the men pulled out a big knife while they were shouting at each other. Other passengers ignored what was happening as most of them had headphones on their heads.

Chris Olsen said he did not see the knife initially, but he and Cara were listening to what was happening between the two men. He also joked about the situation as he did not think it was serious.

After some running and screaming, the train stopped after someone pulled the brake. Chris Olsen recounted that one of the passengers in front of them was yelling at everyone to calm down and stop screaming because it was not helping anyone. However, he clarified that he did not know the exact reason behind their screams.

Five minutes later, the conductor of the subway car walked through with a key and opened the next door, where they could move to the next coach. They waited 20 minutes for the subway to move to the next stop.

However, as soon as he and Kara deboarded the train, they started crying. Chris Olsen urged everyone to be safe in the subway.
