Alison Brie joins the cast of the upcoming He-Man movie, Masters of the Universe, as Evil-Lyn, the antagonist, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. Produced by Amazon’s MGM Studios and Mattel Films, Brie’s character first appeared in the 1987 rendition of the movie, where her role was played by Meg Foster.
Brie’s character, Evil-Lyn, is Skeletor’s right-hand woman and go-to ally. She’s almost as malicious as he is, and the duo often plot vindictive schemes that cause chaos and destruction.
Evil-Lyn possesses magical abilities and uses a wand and a crystal ball as mediums to channel and control her powers in black magic. While the ethos of Brie’s character is evil, further details about her character description are being kept under wraps.
Travis Knight is set to direct the He-Man movie. Knight’s most renowned works include Kubo and the Two Strings. The live-action remake of Masters of the Universe has been highly anticipated by fans of the original movie, and it seems all that anticipation is now being realized.
Brie is joined by Nicholas Galitzine, who will play the protagonist, He-Man. Speaking to Variety on May 29, 2024, the Head of Film Production and Development at Amazon MGM Studios, Julie Rapaport, expressed her excitement about Galitzine’s casting, saying:
“We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man! (...) This reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”

Mattel Films and Amazon MGM Studios announced the global release date for the He-Man movie. Masters of the Universe will hit theaters on June 5, 2026, as reported by Mattel Films.
Knight will be working alongside a talented team of writers and producers from Mattel, such as David Callaham, Aaron and Adam Nee, and Robbie Brenner.
The production hub Escape Artists is also collaborating on the movie, with Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and Todd Black co-producing alongside Brenner.
