After the video surfaced on the internet, social media users were quick to react. Many shared how Pereira might be the next person to get affected by the so-called “Drake Curse.” A user wrote,

Internet users joke about the Drake Curse after Alex Pereira and Drizzy meet at the latter’s Sydney concert

Drizzy acknowledged Pereira as they dapped up at one of the former’s Anita Max Wynn Tour concerts in Sydney. After the moment was captured on camera, many referenced the Drake Curse meme, which, according to them, might impact Pereira in his next fight.

However, Drizzy’s bets on Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland went in vain. Izzy lost against Strickland during UFC 293. Strickland, who won the UFC Middleweight Champion from Adesanya, lost against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297.
