Rain Brown, star of the Discovery Channel's reality series "Alaskan Bush People," has broken her silence following her recent arrest on burglary charges alongside her husband, Josiah Lorton.

The 22-year-old reality star, who goes by "Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown," defended herself on Instagram after her and her husband Lorton's arrest in Okanogan County, Washington, on April 11.

Brown was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief, and second-degree criminal trespass. Lorton, 23, faced similar charges of burglary and mischief.

In an emotional Instagram post published on Easter Sunday, Rain Brown finally broke her silence, hinting that the allegations arose from a dispute involving a former manager. Addressing the controversy, she wrote:

"It hurts my heart that my rainbows would choose to believe the lies that my old manager who stole $43,000 from me and abused me instead of maybe thinking “oh no who is saying this about Rain?”Not “wow what a waste” it deeply hurts my heart."

Brown, who was 11 when Alaskan Bush People debuted in 2014, was known as the youngest member of the Brown family. The show focused on the Brown family members' rugged lifestyle and their efforts to live in the Alaskan wilderness. The series ended in 2022.

A look into Rain Brown's other recent controversies

Rain Brown's arrest follows a tumultuous year that included an order of protection request filed by her brother, Noah Brown, against her in August 2024, which was dismissed.

In that petition, Noah made allegations against Rain of drug use and threatening behavior, but the court dismissed the request, stating that the allegations lacked evidence and relevance. According to the Daily Mail, the court filing blamed Rain Brown for stalking and causing substantial emotional distress and violence.

'On or about December 6, 2023, my mother went to visit Respondent and my mother was offered cocaine for her migraine/headache she was experiencing.' The court filing said.

In January 2025, Rain Brown announced that she had married Josiah Lorton, a chef she met while working as a waitress. They made their relationship public with a series of Instagram posts.

In February, Josiah Lorton addressed speculations about his addiction and background, stating that he had been clean and sober for the past five years.

"I spent a lot of time trying to fix my life and get off drugs...I don't want that for my life no more, that's the reason why I don't have any contact with my kids, because I was a piece of c**p drug addict for a long time." He said in an instagram post.

Details of the burglary incident that led to their arrest have not been disclosed, but court records indicate that the couple was released on April 14 and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
