Rapper The Game, aka Jayceon Terrell Taylor, has decided to help people affected by the LA wildfire by paying for their Airbnb stay. He took to his Instagram stories on January 8, 2025, where he wrote that he, along with Talent Manager Travis Wilson, had decided to help ten families find a place in Airbnb by paying for their week’s stay. He urged people to get in touch with Wilson for more details by providing the required identification document or driver’s license. The people must belong to the affected areas. The rapper’s announcement has drawn reactions from social media users.
One Instagram user commented:
“Air bnb is already doing this.”
Netizens pointed out that the homestay rental company had already announced a similar initiative. Others appreciated The Game’s love for the city.
“AirBnB has already announced feecshelter (temporary) for those who have been made homeless.”
“One thing about game - his love for this city is profound. Respect from Long Beach.”
“See this the kind of celebrity stories I wanna see!”
Social media users called The Game’s initiative would be helpful even if the number of families to benefit from it is small.
“Always been a REAL.”
“Yall was on Kendrick Nuts the whole Summer and treated him like God What he doing for the City?”
“Ok so now 10 families can have 2 weeks; the week AirBnb is giving and then his week that’s paid for afterwards. 10 families is a VERY small number considering how many are affected but something is better than nothing. He doing something to help that is what matters.”
Besides covering Airbnb costs, The Game also provided relief supplies
As seen in his recent Instagram stories from January 10, 2025, The Game also volunteered to provide relief supplies like water and food items to the affected people. Instagram account “Bigboysneighborhood” also shared a video of the rapper helping affected people and firefighters.
Although he was an evacuee, the rapper helped arrange water, meals, and coffee for the people. The rapper has shared his thoughts about the LA wildfires over multiple social media posts. He wrote:
“This is just sad. Los Angeles is really hurting right now. If you are anywhere near fires… please pack what’s necessary & evacuate immediately !!!!!!!! I have many friends, neighbors & people I know that have lost everything. My own home & those around it are in extreme danger as the Santa Monica mountains fires continue to spread & has now even reached the Hollywood hills close to Runyon Canyon.”
The Game shared his disbelief over recent events in California, urging continued prayers and support for the state.
On January 8, 2025, Airbnb announced it would provide free temporary housing to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Partnering with 211 LA, the initiative is supported by the homestay rental company and contributions from hosts who offer accommodations at no cost or a reduced rate.
