During one of her recent streams, Imane “Pokimane” Anys recently voiced her approval of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance. Anys vented out her anger against the K.Dot naysayers, pointing out how many critics didn’t understand the performance delivered by the Compton rapper.
Pokimane didn’t hold back her anger as she made a somewhat polarizing remark, claiming how many of those who hated Lamar’s performance were white. She said,
“Only white people hated it. I didn’t wanna say it. As a white-passing person, I didn’t wanna say that, but you are saying that and me repeating that message, I’m just gonna let that sit.”
Imane further explained her point of view, proclaiming how monumental K.Dot’s performance was, especially in the context of Black History Month. She added,
“The people that I saw with this take the most were white men. Ain’t nothing wrong with being a white man, that’s not the point. My point is that, you know, I feel like, if you watch his performance and really took it in, you would be like,’Umm, there are some underlying messages that the performance is trying to convey, especially during the black history month.’ So, you sitting there, again respectfully whatever, being like, ‘I don’t think he deserved it.’ It’s just like, stop, please.”
The streamer’s clip got loads of reactions on X, with people getting divided over her remarks. A user even shared their confusion around Pokimane’s “white passing” comment, as they wrote,
“Aint she white? 🤔”
Another user shared a GIF of “confused LeBron James” and added,
“She not even white.”
Someone questioned the remark while posting,
“As a white passing person..? What's she on 😂”

Kendrick Lamar headlined the Super Bowl halftime show a week after winning five Grammys
Lamar and Drake’s beef was much discussed in 2024, which lost its hype with the former’s Not Like Us. The diss track also scripted history at the Grammys, where Kendrick got five wins and got the crowd to yell “A Minor.”
A week later, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, K.Dot appeared at the Super Bowl halftime show as the headline performer. After pocketing five Grammys, many expected Kendrick Lamar to sing Not Like Us at the halftime show.
As expected, his set featured Not Like Us, alongside 10 other tracks, which even got the tennis icon Serena Williams to crip-walk. His performances were also memorable for Samuel L. Jackson’s satirical commentary as Uncle Sam and featured performances from SZA and DJ Mustard.
However, much like the Grammys crowd, the audience at the Super Bowl also erupted with the “A Minor” bar, one of many highlights of K.Dot’s performance. On top of that, Kendrick's set reportedly became the most watched performance ever, with 133.5 million views.
