The White Lotus Actress Aimee Lou Wood was displeased about a recent SNL sketch drama. Actress and comedian Sarah Sherman portrayed Wood in the skit titled The White Potus, and she allegedly wore fake dentures.

However, Wood was spotted in London having an emotional breakdown while actor Ralph Davis comforted her. Davis hugged her while she wiped her tears. She seemingly addressed the issue in an Instagram story while replying to presenter Ashley Louise James’ post.

James shared that it was heartbreaking to watch Wood break down in tears because of harsh comments about her looks. She pointed out how women were often criticized no matter what they did, whether they embraced their natural appearance or changed it to match society’s beauty standards.

She praised Aimee Lou Wood not just for her beauty but also for her acting skills, calling her a true talent. She also criticized SNL and expressed how glad she was that Aimee chose to speak out. The actress wrote:

“Thank you so much. Just to say, I actually wasn’t crying about anything that the papers made out. I was crying about something completely unrelated.”

Concerning her SNL mimic, Wood shared a series of Instagram stories expressing her frustration. In one of the stories, she wrote:

“But whilst in honest mode - I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo. (Felt righteous might delete later x)”

In another story, Aimee Lou Wood shared:

“Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure -that's what the show is about- but their must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”

Aimee Lou Wood wants everyone to talk about her character

Aimee Lou Wood made it clear that she wasn’t easily offended but enjoyed being made fun of when it was done in a smart and light-hearted way. She pointed out that her teeth had a noticeable gap, but they weren’t bad.

She also said she didn’t have an issue with exaggerated portrayals, knowing that was part of what SNL is about. However, she felt that while most of the sketch targeted those in power, she or her character was the only one being mocked negatively.

In an interview piece published by The Times on April 5, 2025, Aimee Lou Wood appreciated how newspapers and magazines encouragingly wrote about her teeth, but she said:

“It’s, like, cool, and now I want to stop f***ing talking about it. Can I talk about my character? Why am I talking about my gnashers? It’s like now I’m just a pair of front teeth.”

The interview pointed out how unusual it was that, despite the show's focus on wealth, wellness, relationships, and spirituality, the most talked-about subjects ended up being Aimee Lou Wood, her teeth, and whether Jason Isaacs wore prosthetics. Wood said she understood why her teeth drew attention as people felt more comfortable with their flaws.

However, she also found it strange that something she used to be teased for had suddenly become something everyone celebrated. Despite that, it felt like it was the one thing people focused on about her.
