Stephen Graham has been creating quite the buzz for his role as Eddie Miller on the show Adolescence, which he co-created along with Jack Thorne. As the actor continues to do press runs and interviews for the show, he recounted an incident where he nearly broke his longtime friend Leonardo DiCaprio's leg during a golfing incident.

Talking to Jimmy Fallon on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Graham talked about how Leo used to have a golfing cart that Graham wanted to give a try. As he drove it in Cinecilla Studios in Rome with Leo and Alen McCowen on it, as shooting for Gangs of New York went on, it underwent a driving mishap when he tried to put it in reverse, which resulted in the cart falling downhill. Graham narrated,

"I floored it ... we were like 'The Flintstones'..The whole thing's just started to fall. But a golf cart falling is kind of slow motion in itself, so it's falling really slowly. He's looking at me and he's going, 'What the f***?'"

Graham then added how the incident nearly had Leo break his leg, but he got out just in time.

"And the next minute, as it's falling, it looks like it's gonna break his leg. He just manage(d) to get out of the way. Alec, who's a lovely lad… He goes, ‘You're an animal! And so my nickname became Ani after that. They called me Animal."

He stated that this incident was also the inspiration behind Graham getting the nickname 'animal' from his co-star Alec McCowen.
