Aaron Taylor Johnson has spoken about how he quit alchohol for two years before Kraven The Hunter went into production. The actor has added while speaking to the media that he had a selective diet to steer his transformation in the right direction for his latest Marvel character adaptation.
The process reportedly took years, though Aaron's intense training routine only lasted for six months. Not only that, his strict regime brought changes in his daily life habits as well.
In the meanwhile, Aaron worked on other projects such as Fall Guy and 28 Years Later, too. The 34-year-old star manifested his inspiring transformation in Kraven The Hunter that released in The United States on December 13, 2024.
Did Aaron Taylor-Johnson quit alchohol for 2 years before Kraven The Hunter?
Aaron Taylor-Johnson reportedly told Jimmy Kimmel in an interview:
"It was a pretty strict diet; I couldn’t have any of the good stuff – pizza, pasta, zero alcohol for two years while I made this movie. I didn't drink a drop of alcohol for two years. I stayed off of rubbish and crap food, stuff like that. I was in the best shape possible."
Preparing for Kraven The Hunter while maintaining different looks for other interim films was a challenge for the star, as per reports. His nutrionist Nate Shmidt and trainer David Kingsbury guided him throughout the process of getting a muscular physique and six-pack abs.
While talking about his ripped shape as Kraven, Aaron said:
"I have to naturally slim down, for playing more... more normal roles. No one needs to see those arms all the time."
He added:
"I had to be kind of ready and conditioned in a way where I could then quickly put on muscle mass again and train hard between projects."
What did Aaron say about the impact of his intense training regime?
As per reports, Aaron's intense training regime for Kraven The Hunter impacted his daily habits in a good way. He was able to let go of his 'craving for candy' and lip-smacking junk food items no longer seemed appealing.
His dietary plans were continuosly monitored and changes were added when needed. Aaron could not eat pasta or pizza and other things that carry a lot of calories — especially alchohol.
He mentioned in a statement:
"Funnily enough, my craving for candy kind of disappeared, in a weird way. I think I've sort of reconditioned... you know, bag of chips, stuff like that — I just don't actually gravitate to anymore." But indulgences like pizza, pasta and beer are definitely still appealing to him, he said. They're "life's pleasures, I think."
Aaron also shared his post-production moments were he enjoyed a nice meal after all the work was done. He reportedly said on the Monday night show:
"After filming was done, it was beautiful. I had a whole pizza all to myself and had a lovely draft pulled beer, and it was ice cold, and it was the best thing I ever tasted."
