The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) red carpet may not be as glamorous or fancy as the Oscars or Cannes, but it certainly brings a sea of celebrities together, each looking better than the next. This year's ceremony, held at New York’s UBS Arena on September 11, was hosted by none other than Megan Thee Stallion.

It played host to several attendees playing dress-up and served as the intersection where the fashion and music worlds merge. Like all major celebrity events, the MTV Video Music Awards have been known to showcase some good, some bad, and everything in between when it comes to dressed-up celebrities, and this year followed suit.

So, based on everything we've seen at this year's event, here's a look at seven of the best-dressed celebrities at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

From Chappell Roan to host Megan Thee Stallion, here's everyone who killed it at this year's VMAs

1) Tyla

They ain't never seen a pretty girl from Joburg like her, indeed, as the Water singer made her way to NYC for this year's event. She donned a vibrant, canary yellow dress that kept it sassy in the front and classy at the back. Adorned with fringes all over, she paired it with pink strappy heels for contrast and some chunky jewelry.

2) Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan took a page straight out of Joan of Arc's book with her long, flowy red hair and sword in hand. She sported talons for nails and an emerald cape over her floor-length black gown. Dubbed "Roan of Arc" by the internet, the Good Luck, Babe! singer also accessorized with a fiery comeback at a photographer, adding an edge to her ensemble.

3) Sabrina Carpenter

The Espresso singer channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe, donning a sparkling silver, floor-length dress that left her neck bare. With a plunging neckline and wavy blonde hair that screams old Hollywood glamour, she wore the vintage Bob Mackie gown that Madonna herself sported at the 1991 Academy Awards.

4) Katy Perry

One reason Perry made headlines that night was for her outfit alone. The Dark Horse singer showed up in a matching all-white two-piece that showed off her toned physique and arms for days. She left her tresses loose over her shoulders and had a metallic arm piece as her only accessory.

5) Lisa

Lisa from Blackpink was not here to play. She arrived dressed head-to-toe in cream, with a matching fitted hood and a custom Mugler bustier-style gown, complete with complementing gloves. She topped off her look with a tan choker and chunky ring.

6) Coco Brown

Some might say she was the belle of the ball in her shimmery, metallic silver dress that had a life of its own. The neckline ran deep, and the slit was high, showing off the 26-year-old Let It Shine actress' legs. She completed the look with strappy heels of a similar color and kept it simple with her jewelry, allowing the spotlight to shine on her dress from Lever Couture.

7) Megan Thee Stallion

None other than the host herself, Megan Thee Stallion, takes the cake for killing it in an all-black ensemble. The bodysuit transitioned into a skirt, of sorts, held up with a matching ribbon. She also wore Lorraine Schwartz earrings, rings, and bangles, sporting a blunt bob cut with fringes.

The VMAs saw many other attendees, from Addison Rae to GloRilla and Taylor Swift. The event was initially supposed to take place on September 10, but it coincided with the U.S. presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, so it got pushed back.
