A few weeks back, Kai Cenat gave a “6.5/10” rating to Lil Baby’s fourth studio album, WHAM (Who Hard as Me).

After WHAM debuted as number on the US Billboard 200, Dominique Armani Jones (aka Lil Baby) had something to say about Cenat’s low rating. In one of his recent interviews with Complex, the Atlanta rapper responded to a question about a YouTuber’s review of WHAM. Citing Cenat’s younger age, Lil Baby claimed that he didn’t expect the streamer to understand his work. He was quoted saying:

“I've seen, like, little clips of it, but… people like Kai Cenat, I feel like, they're like, younger. You know, like, they ain't gonna really understand and how I'm coming. You kind of got to be a little older to get it, get it.”

The rapper’s response went viral on X (formerly Twitter), where many users presented their two cents on the matter. A user even asked Cenat’s rating as “generous,” as they commented:

“6/10 is kinda generous ngl 💀”

Read on to learn how others reacted to Lil Baby’s remark on Kai Cenat.

Lil Baby’s reaction was quite casual, as he merely pointed out the age difference as a factor in Kai Cenat not entirely understanding WHAM. It seems like the internet users have taken offense on Cenat’s behalf, reflected by their posts on X. Here are some of the reactions to the trap artist’s comment:

“Gotta stop underestimating kai man,” a user said.
“Lil Baby: “You have to be a little older to really get it.” – Everyone rn: [meme of Kanye West looking unimpressed],” another user responded with Ye’s picture.
“The older generation didn’t like that album either,” someone added.
“Kai just said what's on most peoples minds on his platform,” another one defended Cenat’s position.
“who’s the music for then … the gramps ?!💀💀💀,” a user wisecracked.
“Music is not age based stop the 🧢,” someone called out the rapper.

Some users agreed with Lil Baby’s response and reacted positively. A user appreciated the rapper for being tolerant of others’ opinions:

“Lil Baby did right in this interview. He lets ppl have their opinions cuz, at the end of the day, everyone will judge you whether you like it or not.”

Another user praised the Yes Indeed rapper for his response:

“This was actually a very mature and high iq response, Kai cenat isn’t a person of value he’s just a famous entertainer that got rich off the back of degenerates seeking validation.”

Someone noted:

“W BABY FOR UNDERSTANDING KAI MEANT NO HARM”

Another user declared:

“Lol Kai did dat s**t for clicks baby album not bad @ all”

During the same interview, Lil Baby also noted that there’s “no age demographic good” to review music unless someone is a music person. He also claimed that the streamers who usually review are merely sharing their “personal opinion.” The trap artist further added how he respects everyone’s opinion, but he doesn’t pay much attention to the reviews:

“I ain't never paid attention to that type of s**t. But now I just see it more. And I never paid attention to it, whether if it was a great review or not. I don't look at stuff like that. Not saying for me, I'm saying for anybody. Like, I never go and watch somebody else review an album. I'mma listen to the album and feel how I feel, you know?”

For the uninitiated, Kai had reacted to the WHAM album after it dropped in the first week of January 2025. After listening to all the songs, Kai Cenat said:

“Chat, it's time to rate this, alright? Now… I am not even gonna look at the chat. Is this a great album? No. Could it have been better? Yes.”

He shared his rating of the album:

“I didn't get that flare like you know when you get like… if I had to rate it… I ain't gonna lie bro… Out of 10? First listen, I might've to go 6.5, bro. Like at absolute, like, peak type s**t, like I could see like a 7, but like too much being too nice... I think it's a 6.5. Imm’a keep it a whole stack.”

Although Kai Cenat might not have liked Lil Baby’s album, the numbers have still been impressive. Apart from debuting at the top of the US Billboard 200, the album also recorded 16 million first-day streams. Within the first week of its release, WHAM clocked a total of 119.77 million official streams.
