More about Rick Ross' other legal troubles

The recent tax complaint against Rick Ross comes after a man named Darris Straughter filed a lawsuit against the rapper and his Rick Ross Car Show over a 2024 event in Florida. As per the lawsuit, Straughter claimed he was promised the event would be wheelchair accessible, with his lawyer mentioning,

"Rick Ross marketed his car show as a dream-like visit to his property 'The Promise Land.' In reality, it was a land of broken promises and a nightmarish exclusive for (Darris)."

Darris' lawyer also claimed that he made it "his mission" to attend the car show, even saving money "year-round" to pay for tickets, travel, and lodging. Slaughter also went on to sell his car to make it to the car show, only to be denied entry because of his "disability."

Despite purchasing a $500 VIP pass, Darris "sat in his wheelchair under the hot summer sun for several hours" while several non-disabled people were "whisked away to "The Promised Land" per the lawsuit.

Rick, while responding to the suit, asked it to be dismissed, claiming that Darris "failed to allege sufficient facts to support" his claims and alleged that he did not have a contract with him or his business.
