Halle Berry is back with a new eerie movie, Never Let Go, which will be released in theatres on September 20, 2024, across theatres in the US. The 58-year-old actress is set to make an appearance on the big screen after last appearing in Netflix’s The Union with Mark Wahlberg.

The horror movie starring Berry revolves around a dark entity out for blood after its existence is being questioned by two innocent children. Never Let Go is an amalgamation of endurance and horror in the mystical woods. Berry has played the role of a concerned mother before in her 2017 film Kidnap.

Berry played the role of a mom who fervently chases down the felons who’ve kidnapped her son - a setting also in The Cabin in the Woods. The movie is directed and produced by Alexandre Aja, who is joined by co-producers Dan Cohen Shawn Levy and Dan Levine. The movie is co-written by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby.

What is the release date for Never Let Go?

Never Let Go will now be released on September 20, 2024, after it was supposed to be released alongside Saw XI on September 27, 2024. However, after careful consideration of its overlapping with the release of the horror anthology, the date was shifted.

What is the plot for Never Let Go?

The plot for Never Let Go revolves around Barry and her twin sons living in the middle of the woods. The family of three lives free from a life of technology and electricity and thrives on the natural resources surrounding them.

Although they’re like any other family living in the woods, devoid of life around them, Berry and her children have a dark truth literally haunting them. In the aftermath of living with a malicious spirit alone in the woods, the trio's lives take a turn for the worse after one of the boys deliberates the truth about its existence.

The three did present a united front and went as far as tying themselves with rope to avoid getting separated. However, the aforementioned boy’s rope gets severed due to his curiosity resulting in a fight of their lives. Berry must do all she can to protect the boys and fend off a malevolent spirt hell bent on killing them.

Is there a trailer for Never Let Go?

Lionsgate dropped the highly anticipated trailer of Never Let Go, earlier this week. The chilling trailer begins with Berry’s high-pitched screeches and a glimpse of the trio leaving the rustic cabin together, connected by ropes.

The video continued with the three of them sharing a wholesome moment while Berry explained the consequence of ‘never let go’ and subtly unraveled the cunning evil out to get them. The scenes gradually shift to a still in the night with scary music in the background and Berry breathing anxiously.

Shortly after, the scene continues to shift with all three characters echo,

“Never Let go!”

The trailer continues to build with each second - imagery of deceased humans, a fire, and a spine-chilling cry for help. This is all but a mere snippet of what is yet to come.
