The Gorge may or may not have been your Valentine's Day watch, but Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller must have made your head turn with their charming camaraderie. It has been on full display through the promotional events for this romantic film. You can also notice it during their black carpet appearance.

Both actors have been vocal about their friendly dynamic and how it lent itself to their on-screen chemistry.

“The more comfortable you feel with somebody before the cameras start rolling, that goes a long way with the chemistry."

Teller said while speaking about their years of friendship with The Hollywood Reporter. Taylor-Joy backed his sentiment as she mentioned:

“You don’t really know if you’re going to have chemistry with somebody until you’re there, so I think both of us were like, ‘Phew OK great, this is going to be fun.’ It just helps to know that you’re going to work every day with somebody who has your back and loves you.”

The two stars recently appeared in Apple TV's Whiteboard Q&A on February 27, 2025, meant as a fun game to know who knows their co-star better. Fans couldn't hold their excitement as one fan commented:

"I liked their chemistry between Miles and Anya, i love Anya's way of just being herself in any role, but i liked her ever since her stint on the chess outing. This one suprised me, i enjoyed it a lot, i think because i got invested in it quite quickly, i hope her role in DUNE3 is a big but lets see."

_Catskull_ pointed out the actors' wardrobe choices while they pointed out the movie's craft:

"I enjoyed the movie completely. I liked the tandem. I really liked the design and the work with the scenery. It is very interesting why both characters are dressed strictly in black and both are brunettes!"

The Gorge Whiteboard Q&A with Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller

The Gorge stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller were featured on the Whiteboard Q&A session on Apple TV's YouTube channel. They were told to answer a series of questions about the film and about each other on their whiteboards. Here's what they said:

Q: Write down one word to describe The Gorge.

Teller: Hell

Taylor-Joy: Unique

Q: What scene were you shooting your first day on set together?

Teller: Tower (Anya OC / off camera)

Taylor-Joy: 'Across the tower...?' scene

Q: Write down one word to describe Anya.

Teller: Worldly

Taylor-Joy: It's complicated

"I thought it said 'work hi*billy,'" said Taylor-Joy, who initially mistook what Teller wrote.

Q: Write down one word to describe Miles.

Teller: Present

Taylor-Joy: Sweetheart

Q: Who would survive the longest in The Gorge in real life?

Teller: Anya

Taylor-Joy: Miles

"I have thoughts. Fundamentally, I wouldn't kill an animal to survive."

Taylor-Joy said when speaking about why she didn't write her own name. She asked Teller whether he would hide up a tree if need be. He said:

"Depends on the animal!"

Taylor-Joy: "If it's a bear?"

Teller: "Well, bears can climb trees."

Taylor-Joy acknowledged that fact about bears but also said: "The bears are so cute!"

While writing down these answers, Taylor-Joy noticed Teller capping his pen after every answer. Teller denied doing so, but the playback footage said otherwise.

Teller also quipped about his handwriting as he feels it looks like the Comic Sans MS font. It led them to recount their relationship with writing. Teller recalls that:

"At a certain point, I stopped writing things."

He was presumably hinting at a more common use of phones and other devices to write as opposed to the traditional tools of pen and paper. His handwriting might have been affected since he is not used to writing as often as people used to. Taylor-Joy interjects to mention that she maintains a diary:

"I write a bunch of stuff in my diary, which Americans call a journal"

Teller jokingly said that he also has a diary but took back that comment once Taylor-Joy enthusiastically asked him about it. Overall, the interaction showed their affable chemistry.
