Singer Lisa Marie Presley died in January 2023. Born on February 1, 1968, she was the only daughter of the "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis Presley. Lisa carried forward the Presley legacy with her singing career and was followed by millions; hence, her untimely death was a shock. While a small bowel obstruction was stated as the cause of her death, months later, it was revealed that she suffered complications related to a bariatric surgery.

Presley died in a hospital in Los Angeles. She was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical care after she suffered a cardiac arrest at her home. Before her condition worsened, she had allegedly complained of stomach pain earlier that day.

According to a report by AP, the autopsy report released by the office of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner in July 2023, Presley died due to complications from a weight reduction procedure that she had years prior. For the unversed, it is allegedly a common weight loss procedure. Lisa Marie Presley was survived by her mother, Priscilla Presley, and her three daughters.

Over a year after her passing, Lisa Marie Presley's memoir "From Here to the Great Unknown" has been released. It narrates her entire life. Her eldest daughter and actor Riley Keough co-wrote the memoir, as Presley recorded hours of personal stories before her death last year.

Was Lisa Marie Presley close to her father, Elvis Presley?

Riley Keough recently discussed her mother's memoir and life in a special interview with Oprah Winfrey for "An Oprah Special: The Presleys - Elvis, Lisa Marie, and Riley." In the interview, Keough revealed how Lisa Marie Presley shared a close bond with her father, Elvis Presley. She confirmed her mother spent much time with her grandfather at their Graceland home.

Moreover, Keough also revealed how Lisa sensed something was wrong on August 16, 1977, when Elvis Presley passed away. She said,

"She said goodnight to him, and I think she knew, saying goodnight, that she had some kind of sense. I think she had a sense many times that he wasn't OK. You know, she would tell me that sometimes she would find him in his bathroom looking kind of out of it or holding onto the railing to stand up straight. And she also wrote these letters when she was little, saying, 'I hope my daddy doesn't die.' So there was some kind of sense there."

Riley Keough also talked about her brother Ben's death in 2020. She recalled how Lisa Marie Presley was not able to let go of her son after his passing and kept his body for two months. Riley fondly talked about Lisa throughout the interview and added, "She was such a great mother."
