Lewis Hamilton is having a huge impact on Brad Pitt's new F1 movie, just as he does with the patrons. According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton's careful attention to detail has boosted the production value of his new Brad Pitt F1 movie immensely.
The untitled film is coming in 2025 and promises to point a realistic limelight onto the main adversaries facing F1 drivers. The OG racer's input, so far has proven itself within the screenplay. His criticisms are made frequently but, at times, give a burgeoning upward-spiking budget!
Bruckheimer spoke about Hamilton's contribution to Express UK,
“The authenticity that he brings (...) costs us more money to fix things, but we're all in, we want to make it great, and he's certainly helping us.”
Even though these changes require more resources, the production team is committed to a movie that will appeal to both F1 enthusiasts and fresh viewers.
Lewis Hamilton’s F1 expertise comes at a high price
He is a co-producer, so for the movie, he makes sure that the film generously depicts the real image of Formula 1 racing, the technical details, and the physical and mental challenges faced by the drivers.
They filmed during real Grand Prix events on real iconic tracks like Silverstone and the Hungaroring, which helped the team expose the true spirit of the sport that is loved by millions around the globe.
One clear example of his concentration on detail happened while filming at Silverstone. Hamilton witnessed how Brad Pitt's character was in the wrong gear at an important scene.
Bruckheimer shared with Racing News 365:
“The level of specifics that he gave us, like in Silverstone in Turn 3 you're in second gear, and he could hear with his ear we [Brad Pitt] were in third gear.”
Hamilton and his inputs have also underlined how racing is physically demanding. The makers and Brad Pitt now surely know that one can feel exhausted and lose weight after tough races, such as the Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton has also added some points to the story that made the life of an F1 driver more detailed. But those changes were expensive since reshoots and new scenes pushed the budget higher.
“Sometimes we don't like to hear some of the things he says,” Bruckheimer added light-heartedly.
How exactly is Lewis Hamilton helping Brad Pitt with his F1 movie?
The makers want to change the parameters of sports filmmaking by combining a movie with a new level of realism. A fictional team interacts with actual F1 parts to bring closer to the eyes of the viewers: the exciting world of Formula 1 racing.
This means showing the tough schedules, strong rivalry, and tricky balance between technology and human skill. The scenes are not just the exciting action on the track but the driver's fight to stay focused and calm when things get tough.
Hamilton is watching everything, from the way the mechanics move during pit stops to the comfort of the cockpit. Despite needing more time and money, these changes aim to make a movie on Formula 1 like never before.
This movie is scheduled for release on June 25, 2025.
