Last Breath cast and character guide: Who plays whom in Alex Parkinson's new movie

The forthcoming film Last Breath will be released theatrically by Focus Features on February 28, 2025. This survival thriller is directed by Alex Parkinson who has written it with David Brooks and Mitchell LaFortune. It is a feature fiction adaptation of the 2019 namesake documentary, which was directed by Parkinson and Richard da Costa. The film is produced by Paul and David Brooks, Hal Sadoff, Al Morrow, Anna Mohr-Pietsch, Jeremy Plager, Norman Golightly and Stewart le Maréchal.

The storyline, based on a true incident, revolves around a diving accident that took place in 2012 when Chris Lemons got stuck under the sea. Here is its synopsis:

A true story that follows seasoned deep-sea divers as they battle the raging elements to rescue their crew mate trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean's surface.

(1) Woody Harrelson as Duncan Allcock

Woody Harrelson plays the role of Duncan Allcock, who was the mentor of Chris Lemons, the guy who got stuck in the sea. Allcock was a saturation diver and managed to give CPR to Lemons after he was brought back to the seabed. In the press notes, the actor spoke about meeting the real Duncan for the film and called him a smart guy. He said,

“Well, it was a cool thing to meet the real Duncan. I had already heard that he was literally just one of the most beloved people. Everybody loves him. Then you meet him, and you get why, because he is really such an interesting, funny, cool, smart guy.”

(2) Simu Liu as David Yuasa

Simu Liu plays the role of David Yuasa, who was paired with Lemons to work on the pipe when they got a call from their senior about the problems with the position system of their boat. When they were going up, the oxygen line snapped, which led to Lemons getting stuck. Yuasa finally managed to save Lemons when the positioning system started to work again.

(3) Finn Cole as Chris Lemons

British actor Finn Cole is portraying Chris Lemons, who got stuck beneath the sea after his 'umbilical cord' got snapped. After the accident, Lemons fell down into the waters, and he only had oxygen that would last for eight minutes. In the press notes, Cole said:

“It’s cool to see exactly how the real guys do this. Of course, we tried to talk a little bit about the more emotional side. It’s harder to grasp what really these guys go through on a daily basis, especially after an incident like this."
