Lana Del Rey is currently working on a new album, her first country album. The singer announced the new album at the pre-Grammy show on January 31, 2024, stating:

“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years."

Later on, the singer spoke with NME on the album in an exclusive interview on May 24, 2024, stating that the album would be lighter on the content:

"I’ve maybe less to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Blue Bannisters’ or ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’, and just more melodic. Maybe more American Songbook style?”

The singer then added in another interview with People at the 2024 Instyle Imagemaker Awards held in Los Angeles on October 24, 2024, that the album, titled Lasso, was almost ready:

"I think all the songs have been Americana and I want to wait to see what the musical atmosphere feels like. Cause I don't usually feel like I need a pause in the creation process, but if there's a literal energetic pause that almost feels like physical, then I have to wait and I don't know why."

The singer continued, teasing the release date of the album:

"we'll see. But the songs I have, I love, so I don't want to turn it into something that's half cooked, even if it's super stripped back. I want it to be what it was supposed to be. They can be excited for all the other good stuff going on. We’ll get there. First things first!"

Lana Del Rey recently collaborated with Quavo on the track Tough. The track was released on July 3, 2024, and is the duo's first-ever collaboration. The track's video was directed by Wyatt Spain Winfrey, Quavo, and Del Rey. The single remains Del Rey's sole 2024 single. Lana Del Rey's upcoming show at the Wembley Stadium will be the biggest headlining show of her career, with a stadium capacity of 60,000 people.
