The upcoming fourth movie of the Jurassic World series, Jurassic World Rebirth, is set to be premiered on July 2, 2025 in the United States, reports said. With a whole lot of excitement among the fans after the release of the last film of this trilogy, Dominion, the idea of a new film and a fresh set of cast has added fuel to the fire.
Chris Patt, co-starred by Bryce Dallas Howard had been the main lead of the initial trilogy, directed by Colin Trevorrow and J.A. Bayona repectively. However, with the fourth film setting in, there have been changes in the cast, with Scarlett Johansson being the one in the limelight. The direction credit goes to Gareth Edwards, known for his previous work in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Godzilla (2014).
Jurassic World Rebirth's origin can be traced back to the universe of Jurassic Park - the first film was released in 1993 based on the original novel (written by Michael Crichton) and directed by Steven Spielberg. Post this, two more movies (The Lost World and Jurassic Park III) followed, thereby completing the original trilogy.
When is Jurassic World Rebirth set to be released?
The new Jurassic World movie will be globally premiered across theatres on July, 2025, as confirmed officially. Reports so far say that it will be released on the 2nd of the month - which is yet to be confirmed.
However, as witnessed before, the new film will supposedly bring in tons of tension and action, centered around the world of dinousars. After Jurassic World Dominion, the events of Rebirth will probably be set five years apart in the original storyline.
Who will be the cast of Jurassic World Rebirth?
Gareth Edwards led Jurassic World will star Scarlett Johansson playing the role of Zora Benett, an expert in covert operations. She will act along side her co-star Jonathan Bailey (cast as Dr. Henry Loomis, a palaeontologist).
While Johansson has a well-known reputation for her work in Marvel movies (playing the role of Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey has been seen starring in various TV shows namely Bridgerton, Broadchurch and Jack Ryan.
Another prominent name that has come up in the cast list is Mahershala Ali, who will reportedly play the character of Duncan Kincaid. Ali has worked in various movies - like Leave the World Behind (2023), Blade (2025) and even in TV shows namely True Detective and House of Cards.
Among others in the cast, we have Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, Audrina Miranda, David Iacono and Manuel Garcia.
What is the main plot of Jurassic World Rebirth?
Almost after five years of the incidents shown in Jurassic World Dominion, we will probably witness a world where technology has overpowered the presence of the dinosaurs, while they have been trying to survive the inhospitable environment created by human beings over the years.
A team led by Zora Benett (Scarlett Johansson) will be sent on a mission of extracting DNA from the only three species of dinosaurs that still roam the world. On this quest, she will be partnered by Dr. Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) and Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali).
The three species that are still alive will supposedly play a vital role in the manufacturing of a drug - a saviour in the days to come, a medicine for the future. The team comes across a bunch of survivors from a boat expedition gone wrong due to aquatic dinosaurs.
As a result they find themselves stranded on a desolate piece of land concealing a sinister truth - probaby a more dangerous species of dinosaur that is yet to be revealed to the human world.
With a rather abrupt ending to Dominion, questions have been revolving around the main plot of the new film. However, expectations might be high given the fact that the original screenwriter for the very first movies, David Koepp is back.
Like what we have seen in the previous films (mistakes made by human civilisation led to these giant creatures being set free in the world thereby causing havoc), Jurassic World Rebirth might bring in a similar perspective but in a different way. However, fans are eagerly awaiting the official trailer of Jurassic World Rebirth.
