Recently, the footage of Marvel's upcoming release Thunderbolts* has been showcased at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas. In the footage, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who essays the role of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, stands out in the sneak peek.

Along with her, the film is joined by Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Geraldine Vishwanathan, Hannah John-Kamen, and many others.

Thunderbolts* talks about a bunch of people who are gathered together who are not ''hero'-like, which makes them the anti-heroes. They are assigned an enormous, lethal task to safeguard the world. The film follows what their fate shall look like as they embark on this journey together.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the plotline of the film reads as

“Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?”

In the footage of Thunderbolts* showcased at CinemaCon, it has been revealed that it begins with a sequence of Red Guardian and Bucky Barnes as they are inside the truck and are taking charge of running it across the city.

They are involved in a conversation where Red Guardian envisions them working together as heads. However, as per Bucky's plan, they enter inside the building. Behind them in the trunk, we also see Ava, Yelena, and John Walker engaging in some conversation involving armed equipment and John Walker's hat.

However, that is when the entry of Julia Louis-Dreyfus's Valentina takes place, as she enters the scene. Followed by some high-action, intense scenes, Valentina reveals to them that she has kept the door wide open for them to enter. As the scene progresses, Valentina snarkily takes a jibe at each one of them.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, she even names Red Guardian "old Santa."

It becomes clear that Valentina has been harboring ill intentions for the group, as she also says:

“I send you down there to kill each other, but instead you make nice and form a team.”

The villainous touch to her character mixed with humorous elements seems to work quite well for Julia Louis-Dreyfus's character in Thunderbolts*. Even in the teaser trailer of the film, she is seen remarking on them sarcastically. It gets followed with Yelena's forceful smile, as Valentina says:

"Look at you. So adorable."

Valentina is an agent who covertly serves the criminal organization named Leviathan. She also permeated her way through organizations, including Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D., through her sheer calculative schemes.

Thunderbolts* shall make its release next month, on 2nd May, 2025.
