Judas Priest released their latest studio album, Invincible Shield, on March 6, 2024. Rob Halford of Judas Priest elaborated on the meaning of the album in an exclusive interview with Kerrang! on February 26, 2024:

"I don’t want to put myself on a pedestal, but I normally come up with the titles. In the world of heavy metal, the band, the fans, the metal community, it's all about the Invincible Shield. It's defending the faith. We're still defending the faith, all these years later",

The singer later added:

"This [new album] is metal for 2024. People are still here for the genuine, real purpose and validity of what this band is all about, has always been about. It’s hard to put all these words into the speakers. When you manage it, they manifest themselves. That's relevance right there."

The album has so far charted at number 2 in the UK as well as ranked on the top spot on the German, Swiss, and Swedish album charts.

It ranked at number 3 on the Spanish album chart and at number 5 on the French album chart.
