Thousands of people have recently experienced a Netflix outage, which has disrupted their viewing experience. A platform that detects outages, called Downdetector, noticed that the streamer experienced an issue at around 6 pm UTC on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Users who attempted to log in encountered the error code tvq-rnd-100 message, indicating a network connectivity issue that prevents access to the Netflix server. Gaming consoles and smart television sets are expected to experience this issue regularly. Here are some steps to resolve it.

  • Check internet connection - The first step is to check whether your mobile data or Wifi is functioning properly for your account or not. One can work in the close proximity of the router or opt for an Ethernet cable for better speed. Subsequently, you can check your internet speed at fast.com or any other similar website. The required speed depends on your video quality setting. An Ultra HD video will need 25 Mbps, while an HD and SD video will need 5 and 3 Mbps, respectively.
  • Restart - If the internet connection is working fine, try unplugging your device to drain it of power and to clean up any glitches in it. You can also shut off the router for a minute or so and then restart it.
  • Try again - Click on the 'try again' option on the platform, and if it still doesn't work, you can check the help centre of Netflix. Follow the next steps if the error continues to appear.
  • Update - Look for updates for your applications in the Google Play Store, Apple Store, or TV application store. Make sure the app is updated on it, as an outdated one can cause issues.
  • Clear date - If you use Android, go to settings, then to Applications, and then pick Netflix. Further, go to Storage, then Clear cache/data. On gaming consoles and Smart TVs, look into the settings to clear the cache.
  • Reset Device - This should be your last option if nothing else works. Reset your device to factory settings, which will clear out all the data that might be corrupt. Look into the manual on how to perform it. You will have to install Netflix again as it will remove the application.
  • DNS - Check into your DNS settings for any issues. You can opt for the default settings as well. Avoid using a VPN. You can also turn off test participation (account > settings), which will revert you back to the standard setting.
