Speculation is running wild after Who, a song featuring Jimin of BTS, was officially added to the Spotify playlist for A Minecraft Movie. This unexpected inclusion has fans buzzing. Is Jimin about to leave his mark on one of the most iconic video game franchises and the best-selling videogame of all time?

If so, what kind of magic is Jin of BTS bringing to the pixelated world of Minecraft?

Building blocks of a solid theory

This wouldn’t be the first time BTS, or Jimin specifically, has crossed paths with Hollywood. The group has already left its footprint on major blockbusters, from Eternals, where Friends, performed by Jimin and V, played during a pivotal scene, to Despicable Me 4, where BTS is set to appear on the soundtrack.

Jimin has made waves in film music, lending his ethereal vocals to the Fast X OST with Angel Pt.1 and delivering the emotional With You for the Our Blues K-drama soundtrack.

Now, let’s talk gaming. K-pop has been creeping into the gaming industry like a perfectly executed speedrun. In 2024, Stray Kids dropped Come Play for Arcane: League of Legends, proving that K-pop and gaming are a power duo. They also teamed up with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for Deadpool & Wolverine, both in a soundtrack collaboration (Slash) and their Chk Chk Boom music video. Stray Kids are out here collecting Marvel superheroes like Infinity Stones.

With K-pop acts making massive waves in soundtracks and gaming, it wouldn’t be surprising if A Minecraft Movie wanted a piece of that action. And who better than Jimin, an artist known for blending hauntingly beautiful vocals with powerful emotional storytelling?

Mining for clues: Is Jimin of BTS taking over Hollywood?

Jimin’s growing connection to Hollywood isn’t just about the music, it’s about the way the industry has embraced him. John Cena, for example, has been a vocal BTS supporter and has openly stated that BTS helped him through moments of weakness. While he has a particular admiration for j-hope and RM, whom he sees as "the guys with the lyrics," Cena has always acknowledged the talent of all BTS members.

Cena’s love for BTS even made its way into one of his movies. In Playing with Fire, there’s an iconic scene where he tells Alexa to play BTS, and Fire starts blasting. If that’s not a Hollywood crossover, what is?

Meanwhile, BTS is officially part of Despicable Me 4, marking another major film franchise that recognizes their global appeal. If an animated blockbuster about mischievous Minions is featuring BTS, why wouldn’t a legendary game like Minecraft follow the same path? Hollywood has caught on to the power of K-pop, and Jimin’s presence in a Minecraft soundtrack wouldn’t be a surprise—it would be the next logical step.

Then there’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon had a moment of clairvoyance when he heard Who and instantly predicted it would be a hit. This wasn’t just a casual listen—Fallon stumbled upon the track when he unexpectedly ran into Jimin at a recording studio while working on his own 2024 holiday project.

Surprised and excited to meet Jimin in such an unplanned way, Fallon took the opportunity to listen to Who and was immediately hooked. Right there, in the same studio where he was recording his Christmas special, Fallon confidently declared that Who would blow up. And, well, he wasn’t wrong. The song gained a devoted following, further proving Jimin’s ability to create music that resonates across different audiences.

Now that Who has officially appeared on the Spotify playlist for A Minecraft Movie, maybe Fallon was onto something bigger.

Creeper? No. Jimin? Definitely.

For now, all of this is still just speculation. No official confirmation has dropped, but if Jimin is on the A Minecraft Movie soundtrack, we’re looking at another legendary crossover, one where he goes from lighting up the stage to lighting up the blocky skies of Minecraft.

And let’s be honest, if this happens, it won’t just be a soundtrack feature. It’ll be an experience. The kind that makes you stop mid-game, put down your diamond pickaxe, and just listen.

Now, imagine this. A Minecraft Jimin skin, a tiny pixelated Mochi avatar, wandering through the game with that signature soft smile. Wouldn’t that be the cutest crossover ever? A whole army of blocky Jimins roaming the world, dancing, maybe even holding a tiny mic. We’re not saying Mojang should do it, but... they should definitely do it.

For now, we wait. But if Jimin of BTS is truly part of A Minecraft Movie, one thing’s for sure, it’s about to be iconic.
