A nostalgic yet fresh sequel— Happy Gilmore 2 is on the way to our screens and with the return of Adam Sandler, fans will also be introduced to pop icon Eminem in a cameo. The filming is underway and Sandler has already teased easter eggs, hinting at his character's new adventures.
The original film revolved around Sandler's Happy Gilmore, a failed hockey player who eventually emerged as one of the best golfers. It was more than just a comedy, as the 1996 film featured a story that reflected loyalty, dedication, and above all breaking stereotypes in golf.
Now, after almost three decades fans will be watching Gilmore's life after his Tour Championship victory in Happy Gilmore 2. Though exact plot details remain under wraps, we know there's going to be a G.O.A.T Golf Team, along with a cameo by the Mockingbird hitmaker.
During his interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Adam Sandler was asked if Eminem would have a cameo, to which the actor agreed and even shed light on his relationship with the rapper.
The two have known each other for a long time, and the Murder Mystery star adores him. Continue reading to know what else Sandler said about the sequel.
Adam Sandler confirmed Eminem's cameo in Happy Gilmore 2
Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2 is set to bring back some of its original characters with new faces. As mentioned earlier, the Hustle star was asked to talk about Eminem's cameo in the film, and Sandler replied:
"I’ve known Eminem for a long time and he’s a great guy."
Confirming the rapper's small role in the upcoming film, Adam Sandler added:
"He came in and was funny as hell. I think we hung out a day with Eminem and we just shot and shot and it was insane. Said a million things we can use and a million things we’re glad we have on tape."
The rapper's involvement in Happy Gilmore 2 is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the narrative and heighten the excitement of both: the fans of Sandler's film and Eminem's global fanbase. However, the Rap God maker isn't the only one making a cameo as Sandler also confirmed retired golf pro Jack Nicklaus's cameo.
