What else do we know about the Ice Age franchise?

The story of the Ice Age revolves around Manny the Mammoth and his buddies trying to survive different catastrophes at the inception of the Ice Age. In Ice Age: Collision Course, we have seen how Scrat's mistake accidentally launches a chain reaction, sending an asteroid towards Earth.

In the meantime, Manny the mammoth's daughter, Peaches, decides to get engaged. As the wedding approaches, the herd faces several challenges. Their existence is further left hanging by a thread due to Scart's error as they embark on a journey to find ways to protect their loved ones.

In the sequel, Ice Age 6, we will reportedly see the herd reuniting for their new adventures after they saved Earth in a close fight against the asteroids. However, the 2022 movie The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is a standalone spin-off.

As multiple sources have stated, the Ice Age franchise's 2016 movie Ice Age: Collision Course has earned $408.5 million globally. The first movie, directed by Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha, was released in 2002 and reportedly grossed $383.3 million worldwide.

However, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) is the biggest one in terms of box office numbers, grossing over $886 million globally. The franchise also has worked on multiple short films, TV series, and video games.
