In a recent development amid the ongoing legal battle between Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively, and her husband Ryan Reynolds, Baldoni has revealed text messages that show Reynolds expressing admiration for him.
According to the text messages shared on the 41-year-old’s website thelawsuitinfo.com, he reached out to Reynolds to extend a hand of friendship. What has been said as the first-ever conversation between the two, the message read:
“Hey Ryan. Justin Baldoni here.” He said. “I asked Blake for your number well over a month ago and have wanted to text you for a while now, but my good ol' nerves got the best of me," he began in his text.
In response, the Deadpool actor wrote,
"What a loving and generous message. Thank you. We're both looking forward to getting to know you and your family better. We're also big fans over here. Since before we met, and more-so after."
In February 2023, Reynolds praised Baldoni expressing his willingness to work with him in the future, and said,
“I’m excited for you to work together. I’m excited for Blake to crack open her creative piggy bank with someone as dynamic as you. This is gonna be INCREDIBLE. I happen to adore you, Justin.”
The 48-year-old actor added,
"You've been a wonderful collaborator with [sic], and that meant a great deal -- to both of us. Being a stand-up person is everything, and you've been just that since day one. Thank you."
The texts were shared on Baldoni's newly launched website, which aimed to present his side of the conflict. According to TMZ, the site went live on February 1, 2025.
People magazine reported that the website titled thelawsuitInfo.com consisted of two PDFs – Amended Complaint and Time of Relevant Events. The website revealed significant conversations between Lively and Baldoni, along with other evidence intended to counter Lively's allegations. Here are the key details.
What more details regarding the conversation between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were revealed on the latter’s newly launched website?
The website includes email and text exchanges between Baldoni and Lively, which Baldoni claims have been taken out of context in the ongoing legal dispute. Specific conversations highlighted on the site show Lively communicating with Baldoni in ways that Baldoni's team believes contradict her public allegations.
As per Justin Baldoni’s newly launched website, while discussing the rooftop scene with Baldoni, Blake Lively sent him a text in April 2023 in which she allegedly wrote:
“if you knew me (in person) longer you’d have a sense of how flirty and yummy the ball busting will play. It’s my love language. Spicy and playfully bold, never with teeth….”
Ahead of their first day of filming, Lively allegedly messaged Baldoni to say she was,
“grateful for all [they had] built so far.”
She allegedly added,
“I’m excited to start tomorrow. But it’s only one piece of the journey. We started months ago,” via an email, according to the filings.
These messages have become pivotal in the ongoing legal conflict. Baldoni claimed that Lively "cherry-picked" messages out of context in her original complaint.
Another report indicated that the cause of the rife resulted from “fat-shaming” of Lively, inappropriate comments, and Baldoni kissing her too long during scenes. Countering it, Baldoni reportedly filed a $250 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and The New York Times, in which his legal team accused Reynolds of “aggressively berating” Baldoni.
"Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, had aggressively berated Baldoni during a meeting at their penthouse in New York, accusing him of 'fat shaming' Lively. Baldoni, in an effort to avoid further confrontation with Lively and Reynolds and rebuild rapport with his co-star, continued to bend to her will." The suit stated.
The lawsuit explained that Baldoni did ask her about her weight but it was a
“reasonable inquiry into crucial information needed to ensure safety and avoid injury in a scene."
According to a report in People, a pre-trial conference about the ongoing legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025.
