Drake’s dad, Dennis Graham reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s

Kendrick Lamar won five awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards for his album song Not Like US. These included Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video. The singer's win comes at a time when his counterpart Drake did not receive any nominations at all this year.

One reporter questioned the latter's father, Dennis Graham, regarding his feelings on Lamar's wins, and Graham responded with the statement that he did not care and wished the singer well. Graham's response is here quoted via the Art of Dialouge's X post on February 3, 2025:

"I don't care nothing about that sh*t. Ain't got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don't do that bulls**t."

Kendrick Lamar dedicated his award to the people of LA affected by the recent wildfires

Kendrick Lamar dedicated his Record of the Year award to his collaborator Mustard as well as the people of neighborhoods such as Palisades and Altadena which had been affected by rthe ecent LA wildfire:

"This is my neck of the woods that's held me down since I was a young pup. Since I was in the studio scrapping to write the best raps and all that — the records like these. I can't give enough thanks to these places that I rolled around since high school.Most importantly to the people and the families out in the Palisades and Altadena...."

In another speech at the awards ceremony, the singer thanked West Coast artists and stated that rap music is powerful:

"The cats that inspired me to be the emcee I am today. This is what it's about, man, because at the end of the day, nothing more powerful than rap music. I don't care what it is. We are the culture that's gonna always stay here and live forever."

The singer continued:

"And tell the young artists, like my man points out, I just hope you respect our fam. I saw a respect the art form, get you where you need to go, salute, I appreciate y'all, I love y'all."

Kendrick Lamar's five wins at the 2025 Grammy Awards put him at a total of 22 wins. This is the second time the singer has won in five categories at the Grammy Awards, with the singer having won five awards back in 2018 as well. Kendrick Lamar.

The wins come after Lamar did not win any awards at the 2024 Grammy Awards, despite being nominated in the Best Rap Performance, Best Music Video, and Best Music Film award categories respectively. With these wins, Kendrick Lamar has secured two of the three major award categories, with only the Album of the Year award eluding him so far.

Kendrick Lamar's new album GNX was released on November 22, 2024, and is his first new album release since 2022. The album has been commercially and critically well-received.

The album may put Lamar on the track for another Album of the Year nomination in the coming year. Kendrick Lamar has been nominated for the Album of the Year award several times, both for his albums as well as projects he has been featured on.

These include nominations in 2014 for the album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, in 2016 for To Pimp a Butterfly, in 2016 as a featured artist on Beyonce's Lemonade, 2017 for Damn, in 2018 for Black Panther: The Album and in 2023 for Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
