Apart from Lupita Nyong'o and Djimon Hounsou, it stars Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Eliane Umuhire, and more. The film was produced by Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night Productions, while the distribution was done by Paramount Pictures.

Just before its U.S.-wide release, it premiered at the Tribeca Festival, and, later Paramount Home Entertainment put it up for digital download on July 30, 2024. Michael Samoski has written and directed the film, which has garnered $261 million at the time of writing.

What A Quiet Place: Day One is about?

The film serves as the origin story for the first two films in the franchise, which mainly revolve around a cancer patient, namely Samira. She lives with her service cat Frodo, her constant companion, until she chooses to give her up to her new friend Eric (Joseph Quinn).

A death invasion by the blind creatures with a heightened sense of hearing called death angels makes their way to Planet Earth, and chaos follows. Samira becomes one of the survivors led by Henri (Djimon Honsou) but ultimately becomes the savior of the people she's staying with.

The film's synopsis, as per IMDb, reads,

After the events and revelations of 'A Quiet Place' and 'A Quiet Place: Part 2' it is time to go back to 'Day One'. Following Sam (Lupita Nyong'o) as she's on a group trip in New York City, everything is going fine, until the invasion that sends the world into silence begins

Interestingly, Lupita Nyong'o initially has a fear of cats, and she has to go through cat therapy, without which we may not have seen her service cat, Frodo, in the film.
