"How do you tour with your kids?” — Summer Walker takes Ciara's advice on overcoming parenting challenges while on tour

Summer Walker and Ciara recently talked during the latter's appearance on the Apple Music podcast Over It Radio, which was created by Walker. During their talk on January 3, 2025, Walker asked how she took her kids on tour with her, asking for her guidance:

"This will be probably my first tour that I am going to finish a full tour um coming up. I won't say the date and I'm just really been so nervous and just. I need guidance on how to maneuver with them cuz obviously I'm not going to leave them. So like how do you tour with your kids?"

Ciara replied:

"well you know um it takes a village. I know you talked about the aunties and I have to shout out to my family and my team you know. Luckily I my kids have had the same people in their lives for mostly all their lives um as far as like my nannies go and I think normally sometimes people kind of shy away from that you know-"

The singer continued:

"-but for me I'm going to celebrate my girls because I couldn't do without my team. Yeah it takes a village and they're like family to me you know so um and then up my sister-in-law Anna she's amazing she also got to be on the road with me a little bit and um you know our family our Russ's mom and my mom and dad would come out..."

The singer continued:

"but that love like everybody works together together you know it's it really takes it I mean everyone on my team is a part of my family like even down to my the hair and makeup team and the Glam team like all the kids know them and they love them like family so everyone ends up like being in it together it's like we're all on tour together um you know."

Apart from her team and family working together to ensure her tour with the kids went well, Ciara added that scheduling her tour was done strategically to ensure that her kids were well rested at night and they could move from one city to another smoothly. She even said that she mapped out her world so that her kids get it and that really helped.

Summer Walker set to release a new album in 2025

Summer Walker is set to release a new album, Finally Over It, sometime in the near future. The album will be accompanied by a new tour, as mentioned in the episode of the Apple Music podcast Over It Radio quoted above.

The singer has so far released the lead single of the album Heart of A Woman on October 25, 2024. The single was written by Summer Walker and David "Dos Dias" Bishop. The single has so far charted at the 57th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and at the 11th spot on the Kiwi Singles chart.

The upcoming album will be the singer's first new release since the EP, Clear 2: Soft Life, which came out on May 19, 2023. The same year, the singer also released the compilation album Clear: The Series on June 23, 2023.

Summer Walker has also released some singles in 2024, starting with Your Friends Remix, which was a collaboration with Hunxho. This was followed by a collaboration with Tink in the form of the single Songs About U.

Summer Walker subsequently collaborated with 21 Savage on the song Prove It, which was followed by the above-mentioned single of Walker's upcoming album. Finally, Walker worked with Odeal on the single You're Stuck in 2024.
