Björk recently had an exclusive interview on The Guardian published on January 12, 2025. During her conversation with the publication, the singer revealed how she had changed from touring city to city to doing longer-duration residencies to ensure a work and life balance:

"The nuts and bolts are more flexible. Maybe being a woman, or a matriarch, or whatever, I try to make it more that people can actually have a life. I have gently fought, since my teenage years, this macho way of how people organise both films and tours."

The singer continued:

"‘Oh, let’s now work 18 hours a day, every single day, until everybody throws up.’ I always wanted to coexist. You can have a personal life. You can have your kids. You can have your partners there. I’m not saying I’ve succeeded,” she says, laughing, “but at least I’ve tried to create a world that is more open to things like that."

Björk and optimism on her latest album Fossora

Björk also talked about her latest album, Fossora, and how it relates to her outlook on the world, stating:

"Vibrant optimism happens to be my faith, too. I would say in my group of friends, I am. I play that role, but it’s not like it doesn’t have its shadow. But, then, of course, things are not so black and white. Sometimes people who are more the Pollyanna characters, they have a shadow."

Björk continued:

"And I think the same with the pessimists – they have light. The few times when things actually do work out, they are very pleasantly happy. I think we have all the sides inside us, even though one is prominent, in how we execute light or navigate the world."

The singer released her latest studio album, Fossora, on September 30, 2022. The tracklist for the album is given below:

The book was designed by M/M Paris and features 313 color images. The book will be followed by the release of the concert film sometime in 2025.

Fossora was the singer's tenth studio album and her first since 2017's Utopia. The album was a minor success on the North American charts, while in Europe, the singer had more success, with the highest success being in the UK, Scotland, and her home country of Iceland.

The album deals with themes of loss and healing, a return to nature and earth. The album was partially conceptualized after the death of the singer's mother in 2018. The singer worked on the album during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Björk is best known for her debut album, Debut, released on July 5, 1993. The album is currently her most successful studio album, with a multi-platinum certification album.
