Honeymoon Crasher ending explained: Do Lily and Peter end up together?
During their trip, Lily meets a man named Peter (Gilbert Melki). They quickly bond and spend a lot of time together.
However, Lily and Peter do not end up together as a couple.
It is revealed that Lucas had taken a loan to bear the hefty prices of the luxurious honeymoon, and unfortunately, the resort could not refund the price. With no other choice left, Lucas proceeds to have a trip to his honeymoon destination-Mauritius, along with Lily.
As they reach the resort, they are compelled to pretend as a newly-wed couple since the booking was intended for Lucas and his would-be-wife Elodie (played by Clara Joly). The mother-son duo are welcomed warmly by the hotel staff, as they are under the misapprehension of Lucas and Lily being a couple, actually, quite an 'unconventional' couple, that too.
While Lily is having the time of her life at the coastal lands, Lucas is struggling to enjoy and is constantly embarrassed of his mother. It is shown that Lily is more open-minded and liberal, whereas Lucas is more of a recluse and is not comfortable with himself or the surroundings.
In the due course of time, Lily encounters a man named Peter, who showers attention and care to her. Peter helps Lily to unwind and explore the place.
Even though they spend a lot of time together, Lily and Peter's bond never truly materialises into an affair. They rather become good friends, even though it is evident that Peter is quite fond of Lily.
However, things get chaotic when Lucas has a misunderstanding of Lily and Peter having an affair. Lucas confronts his mother and they end up getting into a heated confrontation. Lucas meets Peter, who asks him to introspect about how he has been towards his mother.
Lucas and Lily reconcile, and he reveals to everyone that they are not a couple but a mother-son duo. Lucas also expresses his gratefulness and love for his mother.
As Lily had earlier opened up to Lucas about her unhappiness in her marriage, Lucas calls up his father Michel (played by Kad Merad), asking him to mend their relationship.
At the end of the trip, Michel surprisingly lands up at Mauritius, with him and Lily having a heartfelt reunion.
Together, they take off for a trip to Rodrigues Island.
Why did Elodie call off her wedding with Lucas in Honeymoon Crasher?

Elodie runs away from the wedding altar and gets back together with her ex-lover Damian (played by Esteban Ocon).
At the crucial moment of Lucas and Elodie taking the vows, the quiet ceremony gets interrupted by the incessant calls of her ex-lover Damian. He keeps calling her friends, and Elodie ends up picking up the call just before it is her turn to say "I do" to Lucas.
Elodie hurriedly apologizes to Lucas and runs away from the altar to Damian, as he is shown waiting downstairs with his red, plush car.
Even though the scene's treatment is more on a light-hearted and humorous tone, we cannot help but feel bad for Lucas.
When Lucas is in Mauritius, Elodie reveals to Lucas over their video call conversation about the reason behind her calling off the wedding. It is revealed that even though Elodie thought of Lucas to be a sweet fellow, she strongly feels that Lucas is 'boring'. Elodie elucidates by saying that she craves thrills and surprises, and Lucas cannot offer her that due to his predictable and mundane way of leading life.
The characterization of Elodie seems to be quite one-dimensional and troped, as it would have been interesting to see more layers and humanity to her character. Her characterization is strictly painted as the quintessential 'bad woman' who broke Lucas's heart. However, the purpose of Elodie's character solely feels to be just a catalyst for Lucas's further character development.
Not only is Eloide condescending towards Lucas but so is her partner Damian. She also shows entitlement and jealousy over Lucas, when he posts a photo on his social media of him and Maya (played by Margot Bancilhon) together, a woman whom Lucas bonds with during the trip.
There is a moment when Elodie does say that she feels bad for doing Lucas dirty. So it could be deep down that, Elodie might subconsciously feel a hint of regret for leaving Lucas.
