What is the plot of Holland?
The film is about a lady named Nancy Vandergroot who is living her life peacefully in a small town in Michigan. Her life changes when her friend uncovers a mystery in their lives. The script is penned by Andrew Sodorski, and it was listed on the Black List back in 2013. It was eventually picked up, and in 2022, it was announced that Cave would be directing the film on his story.
In 2013, Errol Morris was supposed to direct the film, but Cave eventually became a part of the film. She had made her directorial debut with the 2022 horror film Fresh starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan.
In 2017, Kidman pledged to work with female filmmakers, which she has continued to do. Talking about the lower percentage of female-led films in Hollywood, Kidman says that she wants to change it.
“It can be changed but it can only be changed by actually being in the films of women.”
She also spoke about how she doesn't stop working.
“People go, ‘You’re a superwoman. I hate it."
There was also a time when Kidman was planning to quit.
“When there was nothing exciting or relevant coming my way, when there was massive criticism or bullying, when your self-esteem is shattered, when you’ve been hit with some massive loss or grief and go, ‘I don’t want to get out of bed. It’s too frightening.’”
Luckily, she bounced back and continued to act in films.
