Actor Pedro Pascal has called out author J.K. Rowling over her reaction following the recent trans rights ruling.

On April 16, the U.K. Supreme Court ruled that the statutory definition of a woman is based on biological s*x, meaning it applies only to those born female. According to a BBC report, the ruling came after a case against the Scottish government for the inclusion of transgender women in female quotas on public boards. As per the new ruling, trans women should not be legally considered women under the U.K.’s Equality Act.

J.K. Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter series, uploaded a post on April 17 on X in reaction to the court's decision. In the post, Rowling was seen smoking a cigar with a drink in her hand. The post was captioned:

"I love it when a plan comes together. #SupremeCourt #WomensRights"

The same day, activist Tariq Ra’ouf uploaded an Instagram video, calling out Rowling's post as "some serious Voldemort villain s*it."

Rowling's post has subsequently got attention from Pedro Pascal, who has commented:

"Awful disgusting S*IT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior."

Pedro Pascal has a 32-year-old transgender sister named Lux Pascal, who is also a trans activist. The actor has been a long-time advocate for trans rights and actively supports the community on his social media. In February, he shared a post on Instagram that read:

"A world without trans people has never existed and never will."

Pedro's comment has been liked by more than 5,000 people who have shown support and encouraged the trans community.

J.K. Rowling has been actively sharing her views on the trans community over the years. In 2020, Rowling shared a tweet in which she wrote:

"If s*x isn’t real, there’s no same-s*x attraction. If s*x isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of s*x removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth."

In 2024, she shared another statement on X, writing:

"There are no trans kids. No child is 'born in the wrong body'. There are only adults like you, prepared to sacrifice the health of minors to bolster your belief in an ideology that will end up wreaking more harm than lobotomies and false memory syndrome combined."

While many fans supported her statements, J.K. Rowling’s comments have led to backlash, with many people in the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters criticizing her views. Despite this, she continues to stand by her opinions, saying they are meant to protect women’s rights.

Pedro Pascal is famous for his role in The Last of Us. His upcoming movies include Materialists, Eddington, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
