Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets cast

Chris Columbus directed the fantasy movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2002, based on a script by Steve Kloves. It is based on the 1998 book by J. K. Rowling of the same name. This is the second entry of the Harry Potter film series, which was produced by David Heyman, and is the follow-up to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001).

Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry Potter in the movie, while Emma Watson and Rupert Grint portray his best friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. During Harry's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Heir of Salazar Slytherin opens the Chamber of Secrets, releasing a creature that kills the school's students.

The late actor Richard Harris plays Albus Dumbledore, one of the greatest magicians of all time and the headmaster of Hogwarts. This was Harris' last live-action movie; he passed away just before its premiere. From Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban onward, Michael Gambon plays Dumbledore.

Maggie Smith as Minerva McGonagall

Late actress Maggie Smith plays Minerva McGonagall in the movie. She is the head of Gryffindor House and teaches Transfiguration at Hogwarts.

Alan Rickman as Severus Snape

Late actor Alan Rickman plays Severus Snape, the Potions master and the head of Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid

Robbie Coltrane plays Rubeus Hagrid in the film. He is the half-giant Hogwarts gamekeeper who is transported to Azkaban on Lucius Malfoy's instructions after being falsely accused of opening the Chamber of Secrets. A young Hagrid is portrayed by Martin Bayfield.

John Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy

John Isaacs plays Lucius Malfoy in the film. He is the father of Draco and a former Slytherin House student who is currently a Hogwarts school governor.

Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart

Kenneth Branagh plays Gilderoy Lockhart in the film. He is the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and a well-known author.
