Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga cast and character guide - Who plays whom in the apocalyptic action prequel?

A prequel connecting to the original so fluidly is a task, and George Miller does that exceptionally with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. It is the only movie in the series by the filmmaker where Max Rockatansky isn't central to the plot. It focuses on the strong-willed leader Furiosa instead.

(1) Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa

As this is her origin story, Furiosa is still a girl whose home was destroyed by the raiders. Though still in her teens, she shows impeccable character by deciding not to leave her people behind. However, someone has to survive to take the revenge. Although she doesn't survive on her own, she is shown some mercy by Dementus after her clan is killed.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays the titular character in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, who has starred in several films, including Glass, The New Mutants, The Northman, and more. She has won a couple of Golden Globe awards for her portrayal of Elizabeth Harmon in The Queen's Gambit.

(2) Chris Hemsworth as Dementus

Dementus is more of a disillusioned individual in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga who began thinking of himself as a paternal figure to Furiosa. There's a different charm to the character, but that comes with a mind filled with immaturity that fogs his vision to become a proper warlord in the wasteland.

The Avengers actor who portrayed The God of Thunder, Thor, Chris Hemsworth, plays the character in the film. His films Cabin in the Woods and Rush have been acclaimed by critics, but he never got any awards for these.

(3) Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack

Before Furiosa became Imperator Furiosa, there was Praetorian Jack. He is the one aided by Furiosa in the story and both hold hope to reach The Green Place someday. He becomes a legend of the wasteland following the events after an ambush is executed by Dementus.

Praetorian Jack is portrayed by Tom Burke, who also played Orson Welles alongside Gary Oldman in Mank. His journey has been a roller coaster ride, as he was diagnosed with dyslexia at an early age.

(4) Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe

'The man who cheated death' is how the History Men addresses Immortan Joe, who eventually becomes ruler of the wasteland. He was Colonel Joe Moore during the Oil Wars and Water Wars, who later formed a group of marauders in the story.

Lachy Hulme, who also appeared in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions as Sparks, portrayed Immortan Joe in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Looking at his career, he is also a screenwriter alongside being an actor.
