Major Festivals, just like every other year, will be returning in 2025 with their latest editions. These festivals offer fans to watch major bands and artists live in the same place but also discover new acts they might not have heard of before.
The list of Major Festivals is long and difficult for one person to keep track of. Each continent offers its own festivals, resulting in hundreds of festivals to choose from each year.
Therefore, the below list provides a non-exhaustive list of festivals to look forward to in the coming year. From Primavera Sound to Reading & Leeds, the list includes some of the most popular festivals in the world.
List of Major Festivals of 2025
1) Primavera Sound Barcelona and Primavera Sound Porto
The first festival on our list of Major Festivals is Primavera Sound. Primavera Sound returns in 2025 with its two editions, Barcelona and Porto. Primavera Barcelona will be held from June 4, 2025, to June 8, 2025, at the Parc Del Forum in Barcelona, Spain.
The 2025 Barcelona edition features a lineup that includes headliners Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Chapelle Roan, FKA Twigs, Beach House, and LCD Soundsystem.
Primavera Sound Porto will be held from June 12, 2025, to June 15, 2025, at the Parque da Cidade in Porto, Portugal. The upcoming edition features Charli XCX, Jamie XX, and Central CEE as headliners, with other artists on the lineup being Fontaines D.C, Wet Leg, and Michael Kiwanuka.
2)Estereo Picnic 2025
Next up on our list of Major Festivals is Estereo Picnic. Estereo Picnic 2025 is set to be held from March 27, 2025, to March 30, 2025, at the Parque Simon Bolivar in Bogota, Columbia.
The festival will be headlined by Shawn Mendes, Alanis Morissette, Justin Timberlake, Tool, The Black Keys, Justice, Olivia Rodrigo, and Rufus Du Sol. Other performers in the lineup include Benson Boone, Incubus, and Mon Laferte, among others.
3) Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
Up next is the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025 is set to be held from April 11, 2025, to April 13, 2025, and then from April 18, 2025, to April 20, 2025.
The festival will be headlined by Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone. There will also be a special closing show by Travis Scott after the Green Day shows. Other artists included in the lineup are Kraftwerk, The Marias, ENHYPHEN, and more.
4)Download Festival 2025
Download Festival 2025 is the next festival in this Major Festivals list. Download Festival 2025 will be held from June 13, 2025, to June 15, 2025, at the Donnington Park in Derbyshire County, England in the UK.
The festival will be headlined by Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn, and the full lineup will include the likes of Bleed From Within, Boston Manor, and Alcest, to name just a few.
5) J Cole’s Dreamville Festival
J Cole’s Dreamville Festival ends with its 2025 edition. The final edition of the festival will held from April 5, 2025, to April 6, 2025, at the Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. The lineup has not been revealed as of the writing of this article.
6) Electric Castle 2025
The Electric Castle 2025 festival will be held from July 16, 2025, to July 20, 2025, at the Banfly Castle in Cluj, Transylvania, Romania. The festival will be headlined by Justin Timberlake, Queen of The Stone Ages, with other major acts in the lineup, including Shaggy, Sofi Tukker, The Sisters of Mercy, Leprous, and Deer Jade.
7) Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025
The next festival on our list is Tecate Pa’l Norte. Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025 will be held in Monterrey, Mexico. The festival will be headlined by Green Day, Olivia Rodrigo, and Justin Timberlake. The three acts will lead a lineup, including Fall Out Boy, Kings of Leon, Parcels, Massive Attack, and The Chainsmokers, among many others.
8) Lollapalooza 2025
Lollapalooza returns in 2025 with various editions, starting with Lollapalooza India in Mumbai from March 8, 2025, to March 9, 2025. These will be followed by the South American editions. Lollapalooza Argentina and Lollapalooza Chile will run from March 21, 2025, to March 23, 2025.
Lollapalooza Brazil will run from March 28, 2025, to March 30, 2025. The announcement for Lollapalooza Chicago has not been made as of the writing of this article. Finally, Lollapalooza Paris will be held from July 18, 2025, to July 21, 2025.
Lollapalooza India will be headlined by Green Day and Shawn Mendes, Humankind, Glass Animals, and Louis Tomlinson. The South American editions will be headlined by Justin Timberlake, Olivia Rodrigo, Tool, Rufus Du Sol, Tan Bonica, and Alanis Morissette. The Paris edition will headlined by Olivia Rodrigo Benson Boone, David Guetta, Macklemore, Justin Timberlake, and Raye.
9)Reading & Leeds 2025
Reading & Leeds 2025 is the next festival on the list of Major Festivals. Reading & Leeds 2025 festival will be held at Richfield Avenue in Reading, UK, and Bramham Park in Leeds, UK from August 21, 2025, to August 24, 2025.
The festival is being headlined by Hozier, Bring Me The Horizon, Travis Scott, and Chappelle Roan. Other performers will include The Kooks, Suki Waterhouse, Becky Hill, and others.
10) Laneway Festival 2025
The next festival in the Major Festivals list is the Laneway Festival, which will be held from February 6, 2025, to February 16, 2025, in venues across Auckland, New Zealand, as well as the Australian cities of Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne. The festival will feature performances by headliners Charli XCX, Clairo, Beabadoobee, Remi Wolf, Hamdi, and more.
11) Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival
Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival is next on the Major Festivals list. Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival will be held from May 8, 2025, to May 11, 2025, at the Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The festival will be headlined by Korn, Metallica, and Linkin Park. Other acts on the lineup include Alice In Chains, Incubus, Mastadon, and more.
12) Glastonbury Festival
The final festival on the list is Glastonbury Festival 2025. Glastonbury Festival 2025 will be held at the Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, from June 24, 2025, to June 29, 2025.
The 2025 lineup has not been announced as of the writing of this article. The festival's 2025 edition will be followed by a year off in 2026, with the festival again set to return in 2027.
