Lil Wayne has been vocal about his desire to perform at the New Orleans Super Bowl Halftime show. However, that performance has now been awarded to Kendrick Lamar instead of Wayne, and the news has the rapper community weighing in on the matter.

In one such post, Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman tagged Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Drake, mentioning the individuals in the following manner:

"These ni**az P**si @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB. I’m make these ni**az respek us on Gladys."

Juvenile criticized the NFL for the decision, stating in a X post on September 10, 2024:

"Look, I'm mad about the situation just like y'all man. But look, my hatred is toward the NFL. Not really the people who booked the halftime show. I'm mad at the people who hired the mother*****rs who booked the halftime show."

He continued:

"I feel like y'all should step in. Ya'll booked 11 Super Bowls in New Orleans. Y'all have yet to put a hip-hop act from New Orleans on the damn Super Bowl.”

Nicki Minaj has also weighed in on the matter, stating in a now-unavailable Instagram story:

"I love watching the whole industry play dumb time after time, lol. The truth is the truth no matter who tells it. Picking and choosing who yall accept the truth from then Bam! Pow! might tell you a joke but won't tell you a lie."

Minaj’s comments reflect the ongoing frustration and debate surrounding the selection process for high-profile events like the Super Bowl Halftime show.

Wayne had originally expressed his intention to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime during an interview with Bleacher Report:

“There’s so many people that’s not from the city there. So it’s a showcase. It’s something that tourists take back with them, and everybody not coming from an American city.
