The Academy Awards are regarded as Hollywood's biggest night as celebrities come together to celebrate the best movies of the year. From wardrobe choices, to controversial wins, snubs and hilarious monologues, Oscars night provides audiences with ample entertainment.

This year’s ceremony was particularly anticipated for a variety of reasons. The news that Conan O’Brien would be hosting was met with universal praise and audiences were excited to see how he would fare; the verdict: he definitely did not disappoint and anchored one of the best shows in years.

Fans were primed up to celebrate the film industry and to see their favorite celebrities being recognized for their efforts over the past year. The show started with a soulful performance of Defying Gravity by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. It was followed by Conan O’Brien’s hilariously silly monologue and many other notable moments from the show.

Conan’s Oscar Highlight Reel

As the host of this year's Oscars, Conan O’Brien's quips were reminiscent of his days as a late night television host. His opening monologue set the playful tone for the rest of the evening.

Among other jokes, his mention of the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, received a lot of traction on social media. The joke’s writer even took to X claiming he bet the producers $50 that the joke "would kill." He also added that he made the $50, hinting at the success of the joke.

Conan also engaged in a funny exchange with Adam Sandler who made a surprise appearance at the show. The host poked fun at Sandler’s staple casual attire,

"Adam, what are you wearing? You look like someone playing video poker at 2 a.m."

Sandler responded,

"Nobody even noticed what I was wearing until you pointed it out. I like how I look because I'm a good person. My snazzy gym shorts and cozy sweatshirt offend you so much that you felt the need to call me out in front of all these people!"

As a part of the bit, Sandler also treated fans to another viral (Timothée) “Chalamet” moment as he shared a moment with the young star before exiting the ceremony.

Halle Berry "Gets back" at Adrian Brody

When Adrien Brody received an Oscar for his role in The Pianist in 2003 (making him the youngest actor to win in the category), he was presented the award by Halle Berry. Brody kissed the unsuspecting actress on stage before delivering his acceptance speech. This year, The Brutalist nominee was giving an interview on the red carpet when Berry interrupted and kissed him, recreating the viral moment from over twenty years ago.

The exchange appeared to be light-hearted and done in pure jest as Brody’s girlfriend laughed and cheered on the moment. Berry also turned to her and quipped, "I'm sorry!”.

Bond Tribute

This year’s ceremony also paid tribute to the James Bond franchise. The mesmerizing set featured performances from Lisa, Doja Cat, and RAYE, and served as another one of the many highlights from Oscars 2025.
