However, the stars have passed the baton onto Tom Holland's Spider-Man, whom MCU enthusiasts will see in the globally anticipated Spider-Man 4, which is reported to be directed by the maker of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Following the Spider-Man 4 news, fans are concerned about Doctor Strange's spell to hide the web slinger's identity, as rumors suggest it might eventually break. This comes from the September Discord Q&A About Marvel Studios with Alex Perez – Part 2, where the insider answered everything about Spider-Man 4, X-Men, Young Avengers, and more.
One of the members of The Cosmic Circus Discord inquired about the bad guy in the fourth film, to which Perez didn't have an answer. He was further asked if it's a a street-level film, to which Perez explained that it would blend multiple elements.
Another member asked if the spell angle would be explored in the film, and Perez shocked fans by responding:
"Yeah, the spell will be explored more, and eventually broken"
This goes back to Spider-Man: No Way Home, when Peter Parker's secret was exposed, and his dual identity could have severely impacted his close ones.
However, he sought help from Doctor Strange, who cast a spell that removed Parker's identity from everyone's mind, including his beloved MJ, Ned, and Aunt May. And now rumors suggest that this spell will be broken in the next film, leading fans to share their reactions:
Following Cosmic Marvel's post on X (formerly Twitter), a user shared that breaking the spell would ultimately make Holland's 2021 meaningless, as the spell erased Parker's secret and opened unexpected openings between parallel universes.

Though Perez expressed uncertainty, the Q&A revealed plans to introduce Hammerhead through a potential connection to the Maggia crime syndicate. The insider also clarified that fans shouldn't expect Harry Osborn in the upcoming film. Additionally, Perez expressed being "doubtful" when asked if Sony's Sinister Six is set to appear in Spider-Man 4.

As seen at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, MJ forgets Peter Parker since all her memories about him are erased. However, to bring her back, the broken spell might work!
Though no Marvel fan would want to see the 2021 film become pointless if the spell only restores MJ's and Ned's memories, this could bring them back in the upcoming film. However, this must be the last option the makers should consider, as there are other ways to have MJ in Spider-Man 4.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Parker promised his best friend Ned and girlfriend Mj about revealing his identity. However, this promise remains unfulfilled as Parker doesn't want to create confusion in their lives.
Additionally, MJ wanted to stay with Parker irrespective of who he was, which could be a chance for the makers to bring her back in the fourth installment. If not, the two can start a new relationship with MJ, who is unaware of Parker's secret.
