Donald Trump’s recent win in the elections over Kamala Harris has ignited a wave of fury among many celebrities. As a result, they have vowed to leave the US for their families to secure a safe haven.
Citing factors such as political climate, gun violence, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and progressive policies under Trump’s rule, these celebs look forward to seeking better opportunities abroad.
Reportedly, Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have already moved to England, a source close to the TV host told Daily Mail.
According to The Wrap, the couple have either pocket-listed their Montecito mansion, or it will soon be listed. “The relocation to England is a reflection of a yearning for a new beginning,” their source said. According to Ellen’s former spokesperson, she no longer represents the title of a comedian after the conclusion of her last tour. 1) Eva Longoria
In an interview with Marie Claire, Eva Longoria revealed that she and her family have fled the “dystopian” US for a better life in Mexico and Spain. “I had my whole adult life here,” Longoria said. She shared how things were changing even before the pandemic and how COVID “pushed it over the edge.” “Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes --- it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.” The 49-year-old actor concluded.
She stated disillusionment over Donald Trump’s electoral win over Vice President Kamala Harris. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.” The Desperate Housewives star further acknowledges that she was “privileged” enough to move. “Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country."
2) America Ferrera
America Ferrera has been vocal about Trump’s win and has been reportedly looking for schools in London in pursuit of the “best opportunities” for her children. She will be moving to the UK with her husband Ryan Piers Williams, and kids – Lucia and Sebastian.
A source close to the actress told Daily Mail, “America is sick that Donald Trump is President again. She is devastated that Kamala lost. She thought the country she lived in was better than that.” However, she will be keeping her “presence” in Hollywood for work purposes, the source added.
3) Sharon Stone
According to a report in Daily Mail, Sharon Stone revealed in July that she will be considering moving to Italy in case Donald Trump wins the elections. Speaking of Trump, the Basic Instinct actress said, "This is one of the first times in my life that I've actually seen anyone running for office on a platform of hate and oppression."

Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s estranged Trans daughter who is not happy unlike her father on Trump’s win said that she doesn’t “see her future in the United States.” She took to Threads and wrote, "I've thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don't see my future being in the United States.
5) Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner, who is a UK resident, told Harper’s Bazaar UK that she wanted to return to her home country post her divorce from Joe Jonas considering US politics.
She mentioned reasons like “the gun violence”, and “Roe v Wade being overturned” after which numerous reasons piled on. “After the Uvalde shooting, I knew it was time to get out of there," she told the publication.

During one of the episodes of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2023, Barbra revealed that she has no plans to stay in the US if Donald Trump gets successful in presential elections. “I will move. I can’t live in this country if he became President,” Streisand said. After the news of his re-election broke, she tweeted, “Kamala Harris sent us off with a hopeful message when she said, "Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars." Thank you, Kamala.”

Cher revealed in a 2023 interview with the Guardian that she almost fell ill the last time Trump was elected as the president. “I almost got an ulcer the last time,” the 78-year-old singer said. She indicated that she might leave the country if he wins “this time.”

Minnie Driver reportedly returned to her home in the UK after residing in Los Angeles for nearly three decades. According to the Times, she said, “If I lived in a red [Republican] state, no, I couldn't [return]. But living in California, you are somewhat insulated."
9) Raven Symone
Raven Symone told in one of the episodes of The View in 2016 that she would move to Canada if he was re-elected. "I already have my ticket. I literally bought my ticket, I swear," she said on the show.
Besides these celebrities, Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, and Whoopi Goldberg also sparked rumors of leaving the United States after Donald Trump’s win. However, there are no reports to confirm when they will be relocating or if they will be moving to another county.
According to the New York Times, Donald Trump won the Presidential Elections by a total of 312 to 226. The vote came out to 76,705,154 for Trump and 74,153,671 for Harris.
