The upcoming animated sci-fi adventure film Elio will be released by Walt Disney in the United States in June 2025. Pixar Animation Studios has worked alongside directors Domee Shi, Madeline Sharafian, and Adrian Molina for Elio Solis's intergalactic chronicles.
In the voice cast we have Yonas Kibreab playing the lead role (Elio Solis, a young boy turned Earth's ambassador). Emilia Perez star and award-winning actress Zoe Saldana has also been included in Elio's cast.
The movie logline of Elio reads:
"The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be."

When will Elio be released?
Pixar's Elio is set for a theatrical release in the United States on June 13, 2025. The movie's first official announcement came at the D23 Expo, 2022. Currently, Walt Disney Studios is holding the distribution rights for Elio. However, we still do not have any updates on the movie's online streaming.
What do we know about the plot of Elio?
Elio revolves around the story of an 11-year-old boy named Elio Solis who lives with his aunt, Olga. The latter is associated with a high-level military project involving signals from outer space.
However, when Elio accidentally intercepts one such signal, he is beamed up to an interplanetary organization named Communiverse. The representatives mistake him for the ambassador of planet Earth. In a moment, Elio's life is turned upside down as he embarks on a journey of intergalactic adventures,
He now has to deal with alien lifeforms and take care of matters about which he does not have much idea. Elio Solis is thus the pivotal character of this science fiction action adventure film.
Who is in the cast of Elio?
Yonas Kibreab will be cast as the voice of the 11-year-old protagonist, Elio Solis in the movie Elio. Initially, America Ferrera was selected for the voice of Olga Solis, Elio's aunt. Later she was replaced by Zoe Saldana who joined the team in 2024

The latest trailer dropped by Pixar has revealed subtle changes including some dialogue shifts. These have left a different and a bit more thrilling experience for the 11-year-old imaginative kid.
We see colorful and engaging visuals of Elio's adventures in the intergalactic space. From a daydreaming young boy to becoming an ambassador for his planet, Elio's journey takes us through several interplanetary adventures.
