In the second trailer of Drop, we witness a terrifying scene of Meghann Fahy's character Violet falling off a building, but has held upon a piece of cloth as support. Then it quickly jumps to the point from when it all begins, in a rewind mode.

It starts from the point when Violet and Henry (played by Brandon Sklenar) meet for a romantic evening date. They engage in a conversation where Violet asks Henry about her receiving cryptic anonymous threatening memes and texts.

What initially does not seem that harmful quickly descends into a disturbing picture. Violet is seen receiving threats from her security camera where a masked person commands her to do as they say, otherwise her son at home shall be killed. She is also asked not to tell a word to anyone about this.

She is seen under surveillance everywhere, even inside the restaurant. She even tries to contact 911, but the line gets abruptly cut. A man in the restaurant mysteriously collapses and dies too, lying on the floor with foam in his mouth.

In the course of the trailer, there is a scene in which Violet picks up a shiny object. We could know its significance upon watching the movie, as it was unclear in the trailer. In the trailer, it also gives us an idea that the sadistic killer is trying to coerce Violet into doing things she is not willing to do.

We are left to wonder who could be playing this nasty game with her. Could it be Henry? Is the restaurant staff involved in it too? Or is it someone from Violet's past, as we witness her saying- "I know its you".

Violet's dialogues raise the levels of excitement and surprises in this high-stakes thriller, as she says:

"When I find out who's threatening my son, I'll show them how dangerous a mother can be."

The trailer also features several rave reviews that this thriller has received upon its showcase at the SXSW on March 9th, 2025.

Drop is slated to make its theatrical release on 11th April, 2025.
