"Don't think any of us are allowed to speak": Florence Pugh addresses the meaning of the asterisk in Thunderbolts*’s title amid speculation

This is a mystery that'll keep us pondering about the upcoming MCU title of some ragtag antiheroes, Thunderbolts*. That asterisk has become a nuisance now; no one's got answers but everyone's got theories.

Florence Pugh addressed this matter and guess what? WE STILL GOT NOTHING. She appeared in an interview with Fandango alongside the other cast members of the upcoming film, where she said,

"It's a dangerous game and I don't think any of us are allowed to speak."

Of course they aren't; why would a studio play with their sales by spoiling the film?

Thunderbolts* will conclude Phase Five and will be followed by The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the Phase Six kickstarter where we might finally see a glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom. However, we might have an idea of what this could mean, and we assure you, you don't have to push that brain of yours to the edge to understand it.

Thunderbolts* asterisk suggests a correction, it's that simple

For ages (read that as ice age), the asterisk has always been a symbol to correct defects. Now we are not talking about the title, though it may be changed (highly likely), but the members of the team. Look at them, all of them defective pieces of... well, assassins. There's something wrong with them; at least Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) accepts that.

To that end, that asterisk in Thunderbolts* is likely to be a symbol for a correction in these defective pieces who are getting a chance to do one good thing with their lives. But Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), whom Yelena doesn't really like to be around, is there, and she certainly doesn't walk around with Captain America-esque thoughts.

Perhaps they'll realize on their own that they are better off on their own. Although we cannot guarantee you if all of them will walk what we should call a moral path. Walker's on top of it, given his history in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021).

But Bucky (Sebastian Stan) aka the Winter Soldier, seems to have chosen his path already when he appeared recently in a cameo in Captain America: Brave New World after jokingly scoffing it off.

One way or another, that's bound to happen

If you remember that slow-burn Marvel recently threw our way, which we cannot hate because Robert Downey Jr. was there (I hate you Marvel for using him) to conclude the event that gave us a large roster for Avengers: Doomsday, actors from Thunderbolts* were in there.

Among those names are Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Wyatt Russell. Olga Kurylenko, who plays Taskmaster, is missing from this roster. Maybe that's the correction; there aren't really seven but six members in the team. Maybe the new title of Thunderbolts* will be,

behold...

'Thunderbolts.'

The thing is, one way or another, their defects will be corrected. It has to be this way or there will literally be a doomsday. Because, as Doctor Strange told Tony before getting powdered by Thanos,

"There was no other way."

Sooner or later, they'll join forces with some of Earth's mightiest heroes. They better shrug off whatever dust lies there on their suits, or, clothes, well, whatever they are wearing. They don't have a uniform.
