Jeff Bena, a writer and director who was married to Aubrey Plaza, passed away at the age of 47.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Baena’s body was discovered at his Los Angeles home around 10:30 am on January 3, 2025. He was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death, as per the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, has been reported as suicide by hanging.
As per an article in Deadline, the director’s family is devastated and has requested privacy. Plaza was expected to present at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. It is not clear whether she will be available at the event.
