Disney has recently released the trailer for its live-action adaptation of Snow White. The film will feature Rachel Zegler as White and Gal Gadot as the princess's Evil Queen. The film will be released in cinemas on March 21, 2025.
One of Disney's trends has been to adapt animated classics into live-action films. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which Disney produced in 1937, was originally written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 as part of their collection "Grimms' Fairy Tales." It was the first full-length traditionally animated feature film and the first animated feature film produced by Disney.
What is Disney's new Snow White about?
Snow White was a film that marked the beginning of Disney's animated franchise. The original film was announced to need a live-action remake. After the decision was officially agreed upon, Walt Disney Pictures planned to create a live-action version of the old movie in October 2016. Nearly 211 years after the original fairy tale, the story will be reimagined as a live-action film with an all-star cast.
Earlier, it was announced that Snow White would be released on March 22, 2024. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the release was delayed by one year. Now the film will be released on March 21, 2025.
The trailer suggests that the movie will be very similar to the 1937 animated film inspired by the 1812 Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Zegler stars as White, a princess who lives with her evil stepmother, the Queen, played by Gal Gadot, in a kingdom ruled by her iron fist.
White flees into the woods and finds a cottage full of friendly animals and seven dwarves after being chased away by the Huntsman. Now, with new friends to help her, White longs to bring light back to the kingdom.

What does the Snow White trailer look like?
Disney has released the first full trailer for Snow White. The trailer opens with White speaking out in defense of kindness, only to be interrupted by the Evil Queen. As their battle unfolds, we see a new spin on the classic tale, from the CGI version of the Queen's famous magic mirror to a new take on animal friends, the Prince and the Queen's witch form. We also get some CGI versions of recognizable characters, such as Grumpy and Doc.
The trailer includes new additions not seen in the classic 1937 film, such as an original song by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who audiences may recognize as the songwriters behind Dear Evan Hansen and a scenario in which Snow White gathers allies to save the kingdom from the tyranny of the Evil Queen.
The trailer highlights key parts of the story where there seems to be heated debate about the characters. It is unlikely that they will still be known as the "Seven Dwarfs," but the new footage does highlight the group.
There were some rumors that they would be made into some hybrid fantasy creature, but from what has been seen, they all appear to be around the same size. However, it does not appear that the film is changing its stance on using actors with dwarfism.
The film will be available for fans to stream on Disney on release.
