Decrypt this hidden detail from 28 Years Later trailer and you will be left mind blown!

On May 22, 2024, a website called The Truth Lies went live as a part of a promotional campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The exact same thing is now happening but this time it's not about a video game but a film, 28 Years Later. Although it's only 22 years later since the first film came out, which would later become Cillian Murphy's breakthrough film.

If you see the latest trailer, you'll see these symbols in a blink-and-miss instance. Even we missed them, but then fans don't miss things, and a user dubbed @Not_A_Cultist was among them in the comments of the YouTube video and decrypted it, revealing the phrase 'memento mori.'

But then the bigger bomb came from another user called @gretxy609, who revealed that it's a password (without a space) to a website called RageLeaks. All of this first came via Screen Rant.

We visited the website, and our minds were blown. If you haven't, be prepared for it.

28 years later, we have a message

We have options, or files, on the film's promotional website, namely Surveillance Report, Lindisfarne Commune, Msg, Life on Patrol, and Cargo Drones. All of them are likely to be coming out in regular intervals. As of now we have a couple of files live in there.

The 'Surveillance Report: Lindisfarne Commune' file on the website, has these images of an island that we saw in the 28 Years Later trailer. All we can say is that it's safe from whatever evil lurks out in the world.

This is sort of becoming like A Quiet Place, where survivors are now on an island, but they are in a more urban setting than people living here in the world we saw in 28 Years Later.

The second file, titled 'Msg,' as the name suggests, it's got a message for us, and it goes like this,

The virus brought us more than the rage. The sorrow, for our lost home. The guilt, for the ones we left behind. The righteous indignation for the secrets being kept from us. It's been almost 28 years since the outbreak. And still, not a single shred of truth about what's really going on. They say it's to protect us. It's for our own good. After all this time, what are they still hiding? They classify satellite images. They forbid any communication with survivor communities. They suppress rumors and discredit reports that somehow, the infected have adapted. They don't want us to see. But we must bear witness. All of us.

Looks like Ryan Coogler's Sinners have a tight contender here.

Two more files are there in this 28 Years Later promotion

Now that you know it's about 28 Years Later, keep a tab on it (though we'll be doing that for you too) as the remaining files, Life on Patrol and Cargo Drones, are yet to open.

There's also a timer running at the top with a phrase, "What is really happening behind the blockade?" below it. Guess we are about to find out, or figure out, whatever happens first. In case neither of them happens, the film will be here anyway on June 20, 2025.

We don't know if Cillian Murphy will be back, but that deadbeat corpse almost looks like him. Let's just hope he didn't become one of those 28 years later.
