Jason Statham and Chris Evans have worked together only a couple of times throughout their careers and then they went on their ways to fill the big shoes. The first time it was in Cellular in 2004 and then it was in London the following year. The former movie is now streaming on Netflix.

It is about a random stranger who gets a phone call and at first thinks it is a prank. But then things start to get serious and soon he realizes that whatever is happening is a real thing. Other than Evans and Statham, it stars Kim Basinger, William H. Macy, Jessica Biel, and more.

Chris Evans' film is about corruption, which unfolds slowly as the story advances. Evans, who plays Ryan, is now convinced that the woman on the phone who tells him she is Jessica (Kim Basinger) is in trouble.

He even reports that to the police station but nothing really happens initially. Later, it is revealed that some police officers are involved in this and they are after something the kidnapped woman's husband is in possession of. Ryan becomes the only hope for this woman.

It was a box office success that made $57 million against its $25 million budget. The story was written by Larry Cohen, who is known for Black Caesar and Hell Up in Harlem and the screenplay was given by Chris Morgan, who has written multiple movies in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Interestingly, Jason Statham is a part of the Fast & Furious series, though he was introduced much later in it. His role as Deckard Shaw was praised and the character later received a solo movie called Hobbs & Shaw, where he acted alongside Dwayne Johnson, who plays Luke Hobbs in the film.

Talking about Chris Evans, he has established himself as Captain America in the live-action adaptation of the Marvel superhero. Other than that, he also played the sociopath and mercenary Lloyd Hansen in The Gray Man, where Ryan Gosling was in the lead.

The other movie where Jason Statham and Chris Evans acted together, London, is different but Jessica Biel again plays his love interest like in Cellular. However, Jason Statham isn't a detective-cum-kidnapper but a small-time drug dealer who is also a banker.

Critically, it wasn't as good as Cellular as per Rotten Tomatoes, where it sits with an approval rating of 14% at the time of writing.
