Cast of Moana

The 2016 animated musical fantasy adventure film Moana was made by Walt Disney Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. With the writing duo of Aaron and Jordan Kandell and a screenplay by Jared Bush, the film was co-directed by Chris Williams and Don Hall, produced by Osnat Shurer, and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.

In the movie, the citizens of the Polynesian island of Motunui revere Te Fiti, the goddess of nature. She is a living island that long ago gave the ocean life by using a pounamu stone as her heart and power source. One day, Te Fiti's heart was taken by Maui, the shape-shifting demigod of the sea. As a result, Te Fiti fell apart, and the volcanic monster Te Kā attacked Maui. A thousand years later, Moana, the daughter of Tui, the chief of Motunui, is chosen by the ocean to give Te Fiti back the heart.

Dwayne Douglas Johnson is an American actor, professional wrestler, and businessman who is also known by his stage moniker, The Rock. He has a WWE contract and does part-time work there. He voiced Maui’s character in Disney’s Moana.

Actress and director Rachel Jessica Te Ao Maarama House was born in New Zealand on October 20, 1971. In Moana, House voiced Gramma Tala. House returned to her role in the Māori dub of the movie.

Temuera Morrison as Tui

Actor Temuera Derek Morrison was born in New Zealand on December 26, 1960. Moana's father, Chief Tui, was voiced by Morrison. Morrison returned to his part in the Māori dub of the movie.

Christopher Jackson as Tui’s singing voice

American musician and actor Christopher Neal Jackson was born on September 30, 1975. He voiced Moana’s father Tui’s singing voice in the movie.

Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa

Actor, comedian, singer, and filmmaker Jemaine Atea Mahana Clement was born in New Zealand on January 10, 1974. He voiced Tamatoa, the giant coconut crab in Moana. Clement returned to his part in the Māori dub of the movie.

Nicole Scherzinger as Sina

Nicole Scherzinger, a Filipino-American singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and television personality, was born Nicole Prascovia Elikolani Valiente on June 29, 1978. She voiced the mother of Moana, Sina, the Chieftess of Motunui. She also played the same part in the Hawaiian dub of the movie.

Alan Tudyk as Heihei

Alan Wray Tudyk is an American actor, who voiced Heihei, Moana's pet rooster in the movie. Additionally, Tudyk voices Villager No. 3, an elderly man who recommends cooking Heihei.
