In a company, the top executive has got to be a risk taker or they aren't worth of the position; in Halina Reijn's Babygirl, Nicole Kidman's character, Romy Mathis, is, sort of, the same. She's a CEO, just that she didn't bother taking risks for her business but for her personal satisfaction with an intern from her company (Harris Dickinson). That is one risky business.

Kidman plays a bomb in the film that exploded at the box office before landing on home media, making $64 million, which is just over three times its budget, during the run. Critically, it's 76% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes based on 257 reviews as of this writing. Fans didn't like it much, however; the popcorn meter was lying on its side with a 48% score.

Babygirl is a green light for anyone's imagination to run wild, and when we add the music that accompanies the story in there, it's just a cherry on the top. While it has its separate score, the film does feature some handpicked songs too, so without teasing further, let's get into it.

Courtesy for Babygirl's score goes to Cristobal Tapia de Veer

Babygirl's original score is all thanks to Cristobal Tapia de Veer, a Chilean and Canadian composer who is known for his score in The White Lotus. But that's not all; his other credits include Utopia (2013-2014), Humans (2015), National Treasure (2016), and more.

His score for the film was shortlisted for the Oscars but didn't make it to the stage. Nevertheless, it was well received. From "breathy" to "expertly tension-building," critics were sure impressed by it when writing about it.

Originally, it had 12 soundtracks in it, released on December 25, 2024. Below, you'll find the names, and above, you'll find the Spotify link to the album, in case you've missed it.

  • Mommy's Dollhouse
  • Whatever You Tell Me to Do
  • No No
  • Mentor
  • Pain
  • Waking Up
  • Whatever I Tell You to Do
  • If I Wanna Be Humiliated I'm Gonna Pay Someone to Do It
  • Come Back
  • Wolves
  • Babygirl

Some songs are featured in there too

In case you've had enough of that sexy music and want to hear a voice, 12 more songs are featured in the film. We will just leave them for you to read here.

  • It's Christmas by Carl Coccomo
  • Dancing on My Own by Robyn
  • Carres by Crowander
  • 12 Clock by The Skyler Hagner Big Band
  • "De Toneelacademie by De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig
  • Never Tear Us Apart by INXS
  • Father Figure by George Michael
  • Sleeper by BadBadNotGood and Charlotte Day Wilson
  • Deceptacon by Le Tigre
  • Creep by Yellow Claw, Stolenhoff and Police in Paris
  • Crush by Yellow Claw and Natte Visstick ft. Rhyme
  • LSD by Yellow Claw ft. Syaqish

A special mention

Finishing off this list is Leash by Sky Ferreira she recorded independently after parting ways with Capitol Records, about which she told Vogue that,

"[Capitol Records] kept me from putting out new music for 10 years as a way of making me look like I’m incapable of it. I’m able to do a song for an A24 film after all this time because that first album clearly meant something to people."

If you'll look at the cover of the Sky Ferreira song, nothing goes better with the theme Babygirl presents us: intense, dominating, and sexy.
