The Swedish DJ whose demise left the world stunned is getting a tribute from Henrik Burman with Avicii - I'm Tim. The documentary film tells the story of Tim Bergling via interviews with celebrities like Chris Martin, Nile Rodgers, David Guetta, and more.

Avicii was known for singles like Levels, True, Wake Me Up, and more. He died by suicide while on a holiday. No foul play was involved, as the authorities looking at the case cleared this up later. His family explained in a letter that he was going through a lot of stress that was affecting his mental well-being.

Tim's family wrote that:

Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

His last album was released posthumously under the title Tim.

Avicii - I'm Tim was most recently released on Netflix on December 31, 2024, but the documentary's premiere first happened at the Tribeca Film Festival. The release also includes Avicci's final performance he gave at Ushuaia Ibiza in 2016.

Production of the documentary began in 2019, when the director, Henrik Burman, wanted to challenge the public image of the popular DJ. More than pouring light on the Avicii side, he wanted to explore the Tim side of him.
